Sadly, I feel that the Acumed mission is under direct threat nowadays; hence my sentiment that all good things must come to an end. I saw my share of turmoil and turnover during my time at Acumed. This included three company presidents and, as a result, three distinctly different strategic visions. This was frustrating to say the least, but the company remained true to itself; until February of 2017. This is when the current leadership, starting with the President, began their reign. I have never experienced such a dramatic shift within an organization. Everything, and I mean everything, has changed. Unfortunately, changes have decidedly been for the worse. With the new Executive Team, we saw a fundamental shift in company culture; one that flies in direct contradiction to what made the company a great place to work. The new leadership came in with “guns blazing,” making strategic vision changes and layoffs based upon limited information. Leadership operates within a confirmation bias, and major decisions are seemingly made with disregard to repercussions. This has resulted in truly abysmal morale across departments, and the turnover rate has skyrocketed as a result. Furthermore, long tenured employees, including myself, began leaving in droves over the past year. The alienation brought on by the Executive Team caused even the most dedicated and successful employees to reassess their engagement and belonging within the company. Even HR couldn’t keep it together, resulting in near 50% turnover within a few months. A few more cons off-the-cuff: Dissent and discussion outside of leadership’s narrow vision are met with swift punishment, or even the door in some cases. I went from feeling empowered and encouraged to speak my mind, to remaining silent over fear that I may upset the powers that be. I never questioned the ethical framework of the company until the new leadership took over. Case in point, we began working with individuals who were previously deemed as morally compromised. The President brought in her usual crew of “yes men” which eliminated any sense of support given by VPs to their respective teams; not exactly a healthy hierarchy. There’s a massive breakdown of communication between the Executive Team and individual departments; I personally spent months on end without much of a supervisor or direction. Overall, the day-to-day environment within Acumed is toxic. Alas, I did not write this review as a rant; rather I hope to have shed some light upon this company to any prospective candidates considering working at Acumed. I ask that you take my review into consideration, and to compare what I’ve said to the other reviews found on Glassdoor. I believe you will find a strong correlation between worsening scores and the timeline I’ve presented in this review. Make no mistake; the negativity expressed in this review and others over the past year are a direct result of the current leadership at Acumed. I will also corroborate a few key points made in other posts. We were encouraged directly by the President to write a good Glassdoor review. Accordingly, I believe there is manipulation occurring and being coordinated by leadership. I agree with the sentiment that “what they preach is not what they practice.” By the end, I had lost all trust in leadership. “The Acumed Way” is absolutely bogus; a thinly veiled propaganda piece meant to be pulled over the eyes of employees. I, like others, believe there is a degree of narcissism within the upper ranks of Acumed as well, as they seem oblivious to the detrimental effect they have on the lives of their employees. It would appear that leadership can do no wrong at Acumed (what an absolute joke).

All that you hate about the corporate world- Acumed. Leadership is not ethical or real. Company is led by an ego maniac/narcissist that simply can not stop talking for even a minute (I am not kidding) to listen to her leaders or employees. She has purposely surrounded herself with weak “yes” men as any thoughtful challenge or dissent is not tolerated. Some of the fundamentally worst leadership I have ever experienced. Employees are scared, underpaid, and looking for new jobs. Although the “Acumed Way” (mission- credo) sounds wonderful- it is simply false internal marketing- only the very naive believe it at this point. Ugh- time to polish up the resume.
