Awful Place to Work

Pros

Had some decent people there trying to survive - kind of like war buddies. The first year they had company events but none in the last year or so. They always had office supplies.

Cons

They laid off 7 people across 4+ departments on the same day in August. People who had been there for years were let go on a Friday and the CEO hired 6 new people to start the following Monday. If you apply here, always remember that this is the kind of person you might be working for.

We do not think this accurately reflects the work environment at AdMedia, as we believe the writer to be an ex-employee who was terminated for cause (poor job performance and inability to follow direction), as it appears their "advice to management" is a personal attack and heavily laced with anger. Any employee at any company should always be cognizant of the fact that if they do not perform up to standards, their job will be in jeopardy. We know of no company that allows its employees to disregard company policies and procedures without consequence.

Pros

-They offer half-days on Fridays -You can start any time between 7am and 9pm

Cons

I was hired to be a human resources ASSISTANT. On my first (and only) day at this company, I figured out real quick that they hired me under the pretense (and pay) of an HR Assistant, but expected me to do all of the work and have the responsibilities of an HR MANAGER. There were so many legal things that could go wrong with that. The owner also expected me to basically learn every program by myself. An absolute joke of a company. I also never got paid for the day that I worked. The owner of the company also makes you take and IQ TEST during your interview, which he basically uses as his main factor on whether he hires you or not... He also expected me to organize the office entirely by myself because he told me that many of the papers that are floating around in the office have peoples' Social Security Numbers on them.... Yeah let's work at a place where anybody walking around can find your SSN

Pros

Great place to work for self-starters. Training was minimal and confusing. Most of my knowledge came from asking my colleagues and doing independent research. If you enjoy being thrown right into the fire, this is the place for you.

Cons

Convoluted Vision: Ethics came into play the longer I worked there. The company's vision is not clear and they will do whatever they have to do to make money, whether it's lying, cheating, or stealing. CEO: Does not pay attention to his staff. During meetings, he will either half-listen while checking emails and offer a nod or 'uh huh' as he disregards your suggestions/feedback, or will totally disregard your suggestions and reiterate the messages from the previous meetings, whether they mattered or not. High turnover rate; In the short time I was there, I saw 3 employees depart. The longest-serving employee (non-management, developer, or office manager) had only been with the company for 9 months. Corporate Culture: I've never worked in a place that had so little value for interpersonal skills. The main room was built for 4x as many employees as were there, yet everyone is off in their own corner and communication is mainly via instant message. At-Will Termination: A complete farce. I was terminated after a rumor started by a disgruntled employee found its way to HR/upper management. Not once was the situation discussed, was I questioned over the rumor's validity, or was the situation handled like responsible adults. I was summarily dismissed and that person still has their job.
