Limiting Potential: Struggling to Thrive in this Environment

Pros

The presence of highly skilled individuals fosters collaboration and the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry. The company offers flexible working hours, allowing employees to strike a better work-life balance and tailor their schedules to suit personal needs. This flexibility enhances job satisfaction and overall well-being. In addition to flexible working hours, AGFA embraces the option to work from home, providing employees with the freedom to choose a suitable and comfortable workspace. This remote work policy has been particularly valuable during times of unforeseen circumstances, ensuring continuity and productivity.

Cons

There is a high turnover rate of very skilled employees due to poor leadership and career opportunity. Working in this environment has been extremely toxic and has taken a toll on my mental well-being. The lack of positive leadership and a clear long-term vision has been demotivating, making it difficult to find purpose in working for AGFA. One of the major issues is the absence of proper training and defined career goals, which has hindered professional growth and development. The HR department's approach has left employees feeling mistreated and has contributed to an overall psychologically unsafe workplace atmosphere. Furthermore, the frequent layoffs each year have added to the uncertainty and instability, creating an unsettling work environment. I believe it's crucial for the company to address these pressing concerns promptly to retain and motivate its employees effectively. A supportive and nurturing workplace is essential for both individual growth and the company's success.

Pros

Most departments are flexible with work from home. If you end up in an area that’s not flexible then there’s no pros!

Cons

They are Shrinking staff because there’s no revenue. Operating on skeleton staff and keeping only the bare staff needed. So that means everyone is overwhelmed with excessive responsibilities. Everything is manual. They love manual stuff and run from automation. There are no annual bonus under Director level, no Christmas bonus. There is nothing extra. No perks worth mentioning. They sell discounted movie tickets but you cant ever buy because the HR employee that holds them is always working from home! There’s no future at this place. Taking a job here will be temporary. If you interview ask about the state of the company and how likely it is that you will be employed there next year. Ask how many employees have been laid off in the last year and how many others locations have closed. Then decide if you’d like to get on a plane knowing it going to crash and burn!
