Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Great products. Interesting core philosophy.

Cons

Dr. Sears does not trust anyone to make decisions. He is the final decision maker and holds up hiring decisions, copy approvals, payments to vendors, etc.... Staff are afraid of him and each other. He encourages dissension in the ranks. Not a cooperative or friendly place to work. No processes and procedures in place to provide stability.

Pros

Free organic eggs every Tuesday. This place attracts some fantastic talent, but all the really smart people quit. Turnover rate has got to be 80% in the first year. Hello?!

Cons

Cons? Management, management, management, management, management... oh, and management. This could be the perfect job for you if you: 1) LOVE being micromanaged to death 2} don't value your sanity or health 3) enjoy being overworked and undervalued 4) hate the convenience of direct deposit 5) don't want to get to know your coworkers' names (everyone quits) and 6) enjoy an environment where bullying is not only tolerated, but encouraged. If you're considering a position here, do yourself a favor and do your own research. The place has a reputation for a reason. And believe that these reviews on Glassdoor are legit. Not disgruntled former employees. People who valued themselves enough to move on instead of staying in Crazy Town.

Pros

As other reviewers have pointed out the farm fresh eggs are pretty good. There are always people quitting so job security seems pretty good in that respect, they also pay well because they know people wouldn't put up with this if they were paid less (make sure you ask for a at least $10k more in salary than you'd normally expect because they'll likely pay it). There aren't any other Pros unless your a masochist who loves constant microaggressions and when people treat you like garbage.

Cons

This is the weirdest and worst job I've ever had, it's crazy how awful it is every single day. Everyone there is miserable and you will be miserable shortly after starting. Everyone who has been there for longer than a year is either completely beaten down or are not pleasant to deal with unless you like snippy answers that make you feel like you're an idiot. Nothing is easy to do, the systems are so convoluted that it takes a really long time to launch a campaign and then it usually doesn't even track right, but don't tell management that, they believe everything is super easy and should be ready to launch at a moment's notice, and when it doesn't it's your fault and you're an idiot. Also, good luck getting any reporting on your channel, not even that is easy to get and even when you manage do it doesn't seem accurate. Operations is a huge bottleneck because they don't believe operations is necessary and they are extremely overwhelmed. Dr. Sears also does not believe in Direct Deposit, as if Direct Deposit was the Easter bunny or Santa, so you get your check after he personally signs it (although they have a signature stamp) which could be too late in the day for it to clear until Monday. These are not the only payment shenanigans, good luck getting vendors paid in a timely manner. Management believes everyone can do everything but that's simply not the case as you'll ask people for help and they won't have any idea what you're talking about. Look if you're reading this, you might be thinking about getting a job here but don't make the same mistake myself and countless others have made, if you have literally any other opportunities, even if they're not as guarantee as this one, try to take those first. Even if it's a call center job - because guess what - no matter what you get hired for here, you will be doing customer service tickets and taking **customer service phone calls** which are absolutely #1 priority according to management but so are your actual job duties so good luck navigating that. Please heed the advice from the other reviews (I really wish I had), stay away!
