Pros

Was a great company to work for under the original CEO. A fun start up with really great coworkers.

Cons

Expected me to be on call 24/7/365. Even when I was on PTO, if something broke I was called and asked to fix it. I never got a break. Tech departments were always terribly understaffed. Especially operations. There was no time to keep up with technology. Always running on ancient software, and never had time to clean up tech debt. I'm writing this 2.5 years after I left because things are going so badly there that I still get text alerts from their systems. I've contacted several employees about this, including the CEO. They're paging a sys admin that hasn't been there for 2.5 years. That's how badly things are going at Alchemer. Do not work here, especially as an SRE, Devops, Operations, whatever they're calling it now.

Pros

Great people in the lower levels

Cons

As an employee who has spent considerable time within this organization, I feel compelled to share my experience to inform potential candidates and offer constructive criticism to the leadership team. In short, this company operates under a leadership style that thrives on instilling fear among its employees, resulting in a toxic work environment that stifles growth and innovation. One of the most disheartening aspects of working here is the blatant favoritism displayed by management. If you're not part of the inner circle or in the good graces of higher-ups, you might as well be invisible. Despite putting in the effort and achieving wins, those outside the favored few are left unrecognized and uncelebrated for their accomplishments. This lack of recognition not only demoralizes employees but also undermines morale and motivation across the board. Additionally, the quotas set by this company are often unattainable, creating undue stress and pressure on employees to meet unrealistic expectations. Rather than fostering a culture of support and collaboration, the emphasis is solely on hitting numbers at any cost, regardless of the toll it takes on individual well-being. Overall, the pervasive atmosphere of fear and lack of appreciation make this company a challenging place to thrive. Until there are significant changes in leadership and a genuine commitment to cultivating a positive work environment, I would caution anyone considering employment here to proceed with extreme caution.

Pros

There weren’t any pros really besides maybe working remote, but they are taking this away FYI. Lot of the most recent hires have been in person hires.

Cons

Where to start. 1. The 100% health care coverage wasn’t really 100% you still had to pay. Money was taken from your paycheck every month. 2. The product is a joke. It’s basically Google Forms. They acquired a company and are ruining the good product that company has, along with treating the employees from that company so bad. 3. If you are a white man who has no soul and just want a paycheck you’ll probably be fine here. But if you are a woman or a person of color it’s going to be miserable for you here. They do not care about diversity at all. Everything is performative. 4. The CEO needs to go. This man should never be allowed to speak in public. He says all the wrong things and is narcissistic and egotistical. He is one of the main reasons why this company is the way it is.
