Pros

The people make Alfred what it is, or I should say, what it was. Prior to being acquired by a tech company, Alfred was wonderful. Not a ton of money, but the people there were not there for the money. We cared about music and music education. Amazing work/life balance, I will give them that much.

Cons

New ownership doesn't understand the music industry or music education. They view music as "content" not art. They are digging their heals into the ground for a software package that isn't exciting or demanded.

Amazing work-life balance, very nice to have on reuse as well, well-respected brand company.

Cons

Pay is well below average. If you want a chill work environment this is the place. If you want to buy a house not so much.

Pros

Work from home, music industry, really talented and nice co-workers.

Cons

Minimal upward growth opportunity, stagnant pay. Alfred has seen multiple rounds of layoffs in the last few years that were probably preventable if the CEO and VPs had a better retention and sales strategies.
