Awful Place to Work

Pros

They offer insurance it's Kaiser so I'm not sure that's really a pro. Generous PTO.

Cons

The upper management acts like they care but it all appears to be a façade. This place is incredibly difficult to work for. The employees of this organization complain about utterly ridiculous things and then management tries to appease them. While this may seem good they do not actually try to fix things in the organization that matter. Employee morale in the organization is very low. Communication in the organization is near non existent, an excellent example of this is that in April a C-level executive disappeared one day we all received a 2 line email from that executive but the management of the organization never addressed anything about this departure. When I started working at this place we were told they were growing rapidly upwards of 40% per year, months after I begin a large layoff happens. Would have been nice to know they were growing the staff but didn't have the revenue to support it. It's now scary because none of us can trust anymore what the upper level management is telling us. Policies and procedures are routinely pushed out but never enforced leaving everyone lost. There is no communication between departments. There seems to be a lot of directors that have been here a while. They get whatever they want because they have been here for a long time. What the management doesn't understand is that this is detrimental to the organization. Some of these directors are downright RUDE and NASTY. This kind of behavior is running off the new people that start here. VERY HIGH TURNOVER!

Pros

Very few pros. The current CEO does not understatement or perform her job well. She cut benefits and pay to line staff while paying executive staff insane salaries. Almost the entire organization is run by consultants.

Cons

The board is clueless and not aware of sigificant wasteful practices. Tax payer money is being squandered.

Worst job I've ever had

Pros

They have a knack for hiring good people, but management runs them into the ground and they leave very quickly.

Cons

Everything. I've been a licensed professional for many years now and have never seen a company that is so poorly managed. They have very little care for employee satisfaction or good client care. They expect their professionals to shut up and do what they're told, regardless of what is best for the client. If god forbid you mess up, they will report you to DORA without talking to you and hearing what happened first. I've seen this happen to several coworkers, and it's scary, knowing there is no support. This company really only cares about making money and going the chepest direction possible. Case in point, they just laid off a bunch of people for "restructuring" so they can replace them with less trained and less expensive employees. Only work here if you are desperate, and even then try to make it as short term as possible.
