Pertains only to Singapore office

Pros

The company as a whole has good ethos and cares about employees. Good benefits like unlimited vacation and you get to leave a few hours earlier on the last Friday of every month.

Cons

Working in the Singapore office is very draining. Not so much from the work itself but from constantly having to put up a fake rah-rah front. The leader surrounds herself with sycophants and if you have a different opinion or a different way of doing things from them, you will have to put up with needling comments, or worse, be labelled as uncollaborative or unenthusiastic. I left because I didn't learn anything at all. The leadership only knows and does traditional PR, and is not at all equipped for what our changing industry requires.

Pros

- Great global culture - Unlimited leave, open door sessions, annual Allison University workshop - US offices doing award-winning work - Pays relatively well - Interesting 1 P&L model which encourages cross-office collboration - Encourages entrepreneurship

Cons

Unfortunately the Singapore office is run by someone who's oblivious to her very poor leadership skills, and clueless about modern-day PR and managing a team, much less a company. Sadly it seems like the global leadership is that myopic to risk the longevity of the agency for the short-term profits/billings she brings in. As it is the turnover rate is around 50% over the past couple years. The global management needs to recognize that she needs corrective behavior and leadership training otherwise people will just keep leaving and agency reputation will suffer.

Drifted off from the focus on people and doing great work

Pros

Tries to accommodate the preferred career trajectories of staff, which is uncommon in Singapore's agency landscape. Also tries to involve a diverse range of voices so one doesn't feel excluded.

Cons

Priorities of the global and regional leaders has shifted from doing great client work towards maximising profits, especially after the Stagwell acquisition e.g. staff are not empowered, good work is not celebrated but rather questioned on the profits made. Lots of smoke and mirrors being thrown around by leaders e.g. an agency wide AI platform, "newer and bolder" "integrated" offerings with Stagwell, but these are either too US-centric or not properly developed to work for the local client needs. Ultimately, moral has been severely impacted and have led several colleagues to question if they are truly valued by the agency.
