Is this your company?
61% positive business outlook
Pros
the people were fantastic to work with
Cons
leadership is horrible. They keep incompetence people on and do not fire them ever
Pros
Pension, automatic pay review annually, team
Cons
Variable leadership. Overbooking. Constant changes to process. Two recent mass layoffs. Limited growth options
Pros
- Fair and professional work environment - Many opportunities to improve professionally through internal and external training - Opportunities to explore areas outside of the clinician role: ie. program planning, health and safety committee, teaching placement students - Room to grow - the company is growing immensely which brings forth new opportunities in leadership and program development - Excellent benefits package - Excellent hours
Cons
- IT systems for scheduling, electronic files, data collection, etc. There are multiple systems for different needs, but none of them are capable of talking to one another for tracking or information needs - The trickle down of information is highly guarded and often we start seeing the results of the problem/effort before we actually receive the information - Lots of narrative reporting on a tight deadline - Growing quickly, and unable to hire up fast enough to take the overflow
Pros
great team works regardless of site. Opportunities to grow and try something new. Supportive learning environment with lots of knowledge at all levels. Solid leadership who cares about front line staff. Ever evolving so can be a con for someone looking just to do a "job"
Cons
systems and reporting have been challenges for years
Pros
Pension is available at start.
Cons
Toxic culture, with poor management and adversarial approach to employees. Office gossip and untrustworthy leadership creates stressful work environment. High turnover for all positions but management is incapable of change. Unable to keep up with competition, I expect major changes.
Pros
Good opportunities to learn clinical work that does not occur in other settings
Cons
Workload, systems, communication from leadership
Pros
The best part about working at Altum were the people. Everyone was extremely friendly and kind. It was great to come into work everyday knowing there were supportive and encouraging co-workers
Cons
Altum really underpays their staff members. The workload was a lot and this was not reflected in the pay at all. Working at Altum was sort of like working in a sweat shop. However, I did get a lot of experience which I was able to leverage to get a better paying job after 1 year. This would be my advice to everyone who applies to Altum health: be sure to negotiate your pay (b/c they will not give you enough anyways), stay for 1 year or 1.5 years but not more than that, then leverage your experience and get out. Altum uses archaic technology. They can't seem to get it right with their CMS or DADOS systems-incredibly frustrating to use for staff and clients; Together these awful systems slow down business and work progress. Most of my job was trying to work around these systems to get my actual job done. Probably the biggest con to working at Altum health are the deadweight staff that manage to bog down the workplace productivity. For some reason, leadership refuses to get rid of underperforming staff members in spite of continuous reports from other staff of those staff members that continuously call in sick (without a sick note), who do not complete their work on time and who generally do not work but get paid for it. I would only recommend working at Altum if you are lazy and would like a low paying cushy job to get through the rest of your life. Otherwise, stay 1 year and get out!
Pros
Team work among Managers, Frontline Staff and Consultants is fantastic! The new CEO really cares and encourages engagement of staff at all levels.
Cons
There are a lot of archaic processes that can stifle the efficient work of those who are 'doers'. A lot of it stems from some of those in leadership, who's hesitation or resistance to change tends to stunt some opportunities for growth and innovation from overall team input.
