1. Unfair Treatment of Remote Workers- Since day 1 we were sold on the promise of equal treatment of remote and on-site employees which sadly is not reflected in several scenarios over the last year plus.
a. Layoffs- Three rounds of layoffs affected only remote team members, citing insufficient work, while similar roles were swiftly filled in the on-site office where work has now materialised.
b. Compensation- Remote team members have not received raises, inflation adjustments, or bonuses since 2020, in contrast to the on-site branch's salary increase at the end of last year/ the beginning of this year.
c. Events and Engagement- Remote employee events and engagement activities are scarce and underfunded, while on-site office members enjoy various perks like ice-cream days, Christmas parties, and breakfast gatherings.
d. Non-inclusive Leadership- Leadership within the remote team lacks inclusivity and effective management.
2. Progression- Progression in salary is tied solely to role progression, a challenging feat, particularly for remote workers. There are way too many rules/steps and favoritism further complicate the process, making career growth seem almost unattainable.
3. HR Oversight- It's surprising for a company specialized as talent partners to operate without a dedicated HR personnel or experienced People Ops professionals to manage in-house talent effectively.
