Some managers are snobs and wont give you time of day, will stab you in the back the 1st chance they get Hidden agenda with regards to company culture and image SVP trying to convey Constant moving of desks so upper management can showcase certain types of employees

Overworked and underpaid

Pros

Health insurance and fringe benefits are pretty good. Lower/middle legal management is competent and try to promote a healthy team atmosphere (despite negativity from other departments). Job security is decent. Yearly bonus has been consistent for several years.

Cons

Unrealistic timelines. Legal teams are wholly understaffed. Sales and Leasing management is out of touch and promote a toxic work environment. For a company that loves to say it promotes a healthy work-life balance, they do little to help alleviate the incredibly heavy workload. Salary is not competitive with other similar employers. Anytime you ask for a raise they give you an excuse as to why it’s not possible. Instead, they give you more projects and increase your workload as a way to “get you more exposure.” Little room for advancement. Upper management is completely out of touch.

Pros

Wildly successful company, great benefits, some opportunity for advancement. Stock grants each year.

Cons

Back stabbing to get ahead is common place. Low pay compared to avg salaries elsewhere. Questionable middle management. Upper management is great, but most of middle management is underwhelming

Gossiping, Cliques and it feels a lot like high school.

Pros

There is free coffee, if you are accepted into one of the cliques you can show up late, leave early, get great reviews and take long lunches. The benefits are decent.

Cons

The company talks about diversity and inclusion and that may be something on the upper management level, but otherwise it is an environment of exclusion. Following a recent 90 minute classroom on Diversity and inclusion, several opted not to sit in the meeting because “it’s a joke” but logged into via phone. Leasing Ops is divided in many teams and within these teams Are cliques, they go out for lunch, get Starbucks, refill their water/coffee in the kitchen together, sit together in meetings and exclude 1 to 2 ppl on their teams with the excuse “well we are friends” and use it as a vehicle of exclusion. They mirror middle management who are equally cliquey and gossip about each other and their employees. This can take the form of frequent "closed door" meetings and/or walks to talk about “something important” between clique members, rumor-spreading and gossip mongering.

Pros

The company is really interesting and full of potential. There are a lot of great people working at ATC and many innovative ideas, but company politics are holding everyone back.

Cons

About four months after I began at ATC, I was already searching for a new job. Upper management at this company is full of elites who belittle their employees. My previous manager was mentally abusive and would speak to me like I was a child. Although ATC tries to brand itself as a progressive technology company, it’s extremely conservative in its policies and business practices. The company offers fantastic stock options with a lengthy vesting period so they can retain staff, especially managers. The price you pay for these stocks is an incredibly demanding workload, a toxic environment, low pay, very little time off and an inflexible schedule.

Pros

Flexible schedule; 2 days in office; Co-workers across company are of top quality and pleasant/team players. Benefits package is nice/better than most.

Cons

Upper management seems disconnected and prude; Fake at times. Theres a lack of knowledge sharing that has created difficultly in finding solutions for multi-team shared issues.

Pros

Financially strong, fair benefits, and good co-workers.

Cons

Felt I was lied to, I was told “work life balance is an option! No work life balance, always on the clock, unrealistic deadlines, horrible building in Woburn and rude upper management. Can’t work from home or leave a bit early for an appointment, while management come to work as they please. Pay is low for the amount of work, must work some weekend, holidays and nights. Can’t use PTO because it’s forbidden in some departments. Many staff are not happy and management does nothing to improve.

Company Culture Continues to Decline

Pros

Generous PTO and almost every holiday off (except Veteran's Day), Summer outing at Canobie

Cons

They continue to increase in office days (3 starting in Sept 2024) and do not listen to feedback from employees on their preferences. Managers are encouraged by upper management to deny PTO requests. CEO is out of touch with what employees want for work life balance. I can see this turning to 5 days in the office as time goes on because every year they have been adding one additional in office today. Benefits are good but that is their excuse for low pay. Used to be a good place to work but now it's all about control and micro-managing from upper management.
