Management no longer cares about its workforce. Its all about numbers. Operators put in long hours and are expected sometimes to run multiple machines with multiple problems. They are expected to make numbers on all the machine. They are driving the quality of the workforce down. Rumors of layoffs are the main talk of the production floor. They have town meetings to tell the workers they are losing money and they are working on tightening up the amount of downtime. Operators do not feel they matter and feel stuck because the skill set they have will not get them a high paying job anywhere.

Recent additions/changes to management since 2014 have caused a change in culture. Aptar used to be a truly outstanding place to work in terms of teamwork, the importance of people, etc. The addition of many people recently from the outside has changed that culture and it no longer is a people first company. Average tenure at the company continues to drop-new people are starting all of the time as tenured employees are leaving. However, they are at least at average in comparison to the rest of the market.
