Managers are amazing, flexible, empathetic, and truly one of the only reasons people come to work Coworkers -> the other reason people come to work. Many of the people working there are nice, fun, and creative. Because of these two positive things- you may convince yourself it's not that bad for longer than you should!

Cons

The upper management has a culture of secrecy and elitism. You will never know about anything until the moment they expect you to implement it. They treat the onsite team like they are incompetent and need to be micromanaged when in reality nearly everyone on the team is way too overqualified to be there. The pay is incredibly low for a for-profit art-tourism space, especially when you look at the rate their competitors pay for the same position. There has been no system put in place for raises and only recently has the idea of employee reviews even been brought up. The customers are entitled, rude, and in some cases abusive. Have you ever read those stories of people assaulting service workers? Yeah, that stuff is normal here. And while management tries their best to deescalate things- the culture of "the customer is always right" that the company stands by often creates dangerous situations for their employees- management included. Miscommunication, miscommunication, miscommunication... and gaslighting.

Pros

Overall good coworkers as of right now. Managerial staff cares about you and is doing what they can. 10% off most places at the Chelsea market. Able to bring in friends and family for free.

Cons

Extremely low pay for NYC . The majority of upper management will not even look at you much less address you. HR will not be much help with anything. Profit over employees. NO raises, even after 1yr+. Salary does not really cover benefits offered or transportation, so you need savings. Persistent and consistent issues with pay roll. Issues with gaslighting employees so they don’t report things.

Interesting concept however there much competition from professional institutions in the major markets which understand how to properly manage visitor experience attractions.

Cons

Amateur organization appears to not have an understanding of how to hire and retain top leadership talent experienced with managing a high volume visitor experience. Rude ownership seems more concerned with self promotion rather that building a sustainable brand experience that is professionally managed.
