Pros

- knowledgeable colleagues - work-to-life ratio very good - friendly staff - company events - xbox

Cons

- fingerprint scanning on entry and exit of building and an internal application where each employee one must login time spent on each task to the minute everyday - camera in the canteen only and some colleagues were complaining of management tracking the time they take everyday to have coffee - 'idle chat' with fellow colleagues is considered a waste of time even if for a few minutes - toilet visits are to be kept to a minimum, especially after the break due to management thinking that these are a waste of time - The amount of internal Skype chats is tracked - infrastructure needs taking care of - no ventilation mechanism in the office results in unhealthy rates of carbon dioxide

Pros

Salary is above average for typical industry position. On-site training and certifications are provided on a regular basis and costs are covered by the company.

Cons

Probation lasts 1 year rather than 6 months. Upper management seems there to do the CTO's bidding rather than actively take bigger decisions themselves. Micromanagement so intense that CTO had/has final say over something completely unrelated like marketing material. CTO acts and takes decisions as though the entire company is trying to screw him over, which given his treatment of them is probably true. Culture of fear pervades the company. Time-tracking is very strict (despite what they tell you), for example by 1.31pm (break ends at 1.30pm) the canteen would be empty. No attention whatsoever to technical quality and even mid-term planning. Office politics rule supreme. Do not expect to build a career without "agreeing fervently" with superiors.

Pros

- Salary above average for Maltese market - Paid overtime, not very often for local companies - Training and certification provided - Friendly employees - Flexibility if you prove yourself

Cons

- Lack of trust - Micromanagement - Monitoring every step of employees; to the extent of asking employees to make sure toilet breaks are done during lunch, limiting the amount of coffee breaks, etc. - Poor or no technical and peer reviews - Poor and inexperienced management team.
