Growing and Changing

Pros

9/80 schedule is awesome and the manufacturing environment is very clean. The company is growing as are the bonus checks. My supervisor is generally a good person who I feel comfortable with talking to about anything. Being in manufacturing for a while, this is the first company that has listened to me and made sure to follow up with me in regards to concerns I have had. I don't do the same thing everyday and that's also nice. Most of the people I work with are fantastic and very helpful.

Cons

The wages are lower than other places I have worked. I have moved quickly up "associate levels" because I am ambitious so that's helped. There are a few people here that are miserable and blame everyone for everything because that's how they entertain themselves, but most of us either don't bother with them or ignore them, but they are here...like everywhere else I've worked. I work in JSF and there are just two miserable women that just have nasty things to say 24/7 no matter how much people have tried to work with them. Everyone else in JSF is awesome and my PTA is also pretty great.

Bitter Aftertaste

Pros

Production management - AKA "Team Leaders" were, for the most part, incredible. Technical and challenging work (mileage will vary *significantly* based on department). Nice location with a spacious parking lot and adequate facilities.

Cons

A downright degrading work environment with middle to executive-level management treating the majority of employees like incompetents. Pay is laughable. Rigidity in scheduling, accommodations, and even the "workspace configuration" (i.e. you might receive a written warning for having your isopropyl alcohol on the left-hand side of your workstation, rather than on the right-hand side of your work station). Trivial infractions (2 minutes late, stepping aside to make a phone call, forgetting to punch out on lunch, etc.) often result in a good ole fashion spanking. The conservative, old fashioned, productivity-driven management style might work for those who require a firm hand, but for the majority of capable folks, it's a bit sadomasochistic.

Pros

Redmond location is nice, building overlooks a valley with a golf course and walking trails.

Cons

Verbal assaults from management when you try to tell them that complex electronics for aircraft requires detailed testing and analysis. Arrogant managers who try to get engineers to agree that work can be done in half the time we tell them because they don't understand the complexity of their own products, then insult the engineers when the project is over budget. Really, it's so pathetic. Places like this are the reason that Dilbert cartoons exist.
