Significant scale and resources. Generally good team ethic. Very interesting part of private equity to work in. A very good place to learn a wide range of skills (e.g I came from a restructuring background but colleagues worked in FDD, CDD and banking previously)

Top-heavy organisation which leads to unintended consequences like competition for junior resources

Opportunistic down turn investing

Pros

Not too busy, usual office hours. Strong DNA in breaking businesses up and managing the down turn. Investment team equals: running transactions to signing. No change to develop an investor mindset and skill set - one is project managing only with endless layers of management involved

Cons

Insane culture. Totally big boss dependent. Typical Investment theses: we can buy cheap, we can break it up. Stakeholders in a deal just don’t like your firm (reputation).
