I've been working at Azavista for almost 5 years now. I started in the area of Learning and Development my first year but then moved into Product Development. For the last one and a half years I've been working as a Front End Developer.
Needless to say, that journey earned me a great deal of experience on those different roles but also on the industry itself and on what it means to run a SaaS business. I've grown both personally and professionally.
If I had to pin-point the advantages of working here I would highlight these ones:
- Remote work and interaction with a very nice group of people distributed all over the world. Meetings are kept to the minimum necessary, which saves a great deal of time. We've learned to communicate efficiently through slack messages.
- Flat structure that puts you "in the driver seat" for interesting projects where you have a great deal of autonomy. This does not mean that you are left alone if problems come up: there's always room for a Google Meet to clear things out and to align on current challenges during standup.
- Continuous drive for innovation. This allows you to leave your mark by coming up with better ways of doing things, be it at the level of organizational processes or at a more technical level (task level). New ideas are most welcome.
- There is lots of room for learning new things and acquiring valuable experience.
- Modern stack of technologies and software development practices.
- Good work-life balance
Cons
Being remote sometimes makes you miss the daily interaction with your colleagues. I had the opportunity to be at the Amsterdam Headquarters and it was nice to grab a beer after work across the canal.
But I have to admit that the benefit of going remote far outweighed this disadvantage.
