Pros

Some great people in team, who have remained good friends, sadly from awful shared experiences

Cons

Weak robotic complicit HR allows bullying and constantly sweeps issues under carpet. Not sure how they sleep at night Sexist, non diverse, non inclusive and systemic underhand management behaviour. Just look at the diversity of the SLT (there isn't any). Antiquated and old fashioned with pay scales to match They don't adhere to their own value system. Fear culture, people 'disappear' on a regular basis with regular re-structures and knee-jerk mismanaged changes of direction. Target on your back if you disagree with management or expose that they don't know what they are talking about No 'Leaders', just underqualified managers, with no concept of how to lead, motivate and develop teams. They feel they don't need to 'lead' as if someone doesn't 'comply' they engineer them out No career progression (especially if female) Toxic male orientated 'jobs for the boys' culture Unless you cant feed your kids, steer well clear

Pros

-Access to a private healthcare plan -Employer pension contributions -Free tea-bags for staff hot drinks -Team building exercises for departments -New positions are created within the group on an almost bimonthly basis -Fast track to Management dependent upon how your are perceived by Head Office. You don't need to have a background in a particular department to become a Manager- as long as your in the clique of senior staff at Head Office you can fulfil your career ambitions regardless of your (un)proven ability to manage others or indeed know basic fundamental truths about the responsibilities you are put in charge of.

Cons

Poor Management: -Merging of different sites has meant a dissolving of site based Managers as the positions are all taken to Head Office in Cardiff. -Communication to staff has suffered as a consequence as individuals who are rarely on site often do not know how the implementation of new procedures will affect the staff that fall under their remit. -Departments have been dissolved and moved to Head Office meaning fewer career opportunities and some redundancies. -Team building exercises for some departments only (depends how interested your Manager is in organising them.) -New positions which are created with individuals in mind are often removed or absorbed into the work load of other staff once the original staff member has moved on. This has meant a lack of fluidity and frustration at possible reductions in career progression opportunities.

BBI Solutions Response

I have just become aware of this website and the below reviews. I would like to thank the individuals who have taken the time to give this feedback. As a Company we always value the opinion of all of our people as it allows us to find ways to continually improve the business. We have addressed a number of the points raised especially around the size of our facility in Madison which has meant an increase to our team size and workload as a result. We have brought in more site managers as well as new site leads in BBI Solutions and have a new senior structure across the group. We have also introduced “CORE” training across the BBI group in February of this year which is a series of training events enabling managers to gather the skills required to fulfil their role. Hopefully this along with the new intranet, BBI Connects will go some way to improve the communication issue which was also mentioned as a concern. I am delighted to hear the team building provided is seen as a positive as well as the increasing new positions across the group. As the business continues to grow there are always plenty of opportunities for all of our talented employees and these roles can be viewed on all internal notice boards, on the intranet and sourced from the C&P department. We really value all feedback, especially from employees who have been with the business for this length of time and whilst I respect your anonymity I am always open to a discussion and promise to listen. So please feel free to contact me directly or any of the C&P Team if you have any further feedback which you were not able to give in the last Big BBI Survey. We also have an anonymous feedback mechanism through the intranet as well as suggestion boxes in the canteens. Thanks again, Lucy Clementson-Mills Head of Culture and Performance for BBI Group
