Pros

BLUE is a small company with big culture. From bingo tournaments to bowling to potluck lunches, BLUE works hard to create an environment where employees from various departments and all levels of the company (including the executive team and the CEO) come together to celebrate hard work and results. BLUE is also committed to success. Employees are truly empowered with resources to make a direct contribution to organization objectives, and they are appropriately rewarded for their efforts. BLUE had a record-breaking year in 2017, and the executive team knows this is the result of a talented, committed team of employees. Therefore, they treat everyone as value-added. The CEO frequently walks through the office to check in with the employees, thank them for their efforts, and ask them for their feedback. In more than 25 years in the workforce, I have never felt more appreciated by my employer.

Cons

BLUE’s location is a bit of a drawback since it is not located in the loop. However, the Cumberland stop on the blue line is a stone’s throw from the office building, which makes commuting easy. In addition, when BLUE holds social events downtown (which are frequent and fun!), it reimburses the employees for public transportation fees and parking.

Pros

Offer decent compensation and benefits

Cons

Company has been around for 20 years and has marginal brand recognition. VC firm backing Blue has limited experience in tech space. Executive team and management is primarily from a space with a built in client base. Is this the best fit for a company in a very competitive space? Blue is trying to rebuild a platform that is 20 years old.

Pros

It was a good experience as long as you can learn things on the job and there are people willing to be positive and work with you. Good managers.

Cons

Some politics, worked there for almost 4 years and no bonus no raise. Employee reviews were on some database for procedural purposes. Outsourcing.People leaving and not being replaced. Big focus on cost saving since the company was bought out .
