Corporate Disaster

Pros

Solid benefits plan, opportunity for advancement because everyone is leaving

Cons

Almost every corporate employee is departing or searching for a new job, company is bleeding from turnover and has no answers, direction for the company is unclear, COO is inept (in addition to most senior leadership), there is no vision for the company, office politics and backstabbing are common to deflect blame (this is the CEO's version of "accountability".)

Pros

Benefits, 401K, time off (if it were ever possible to take the time off you would have the hours to use), a rare few (2-3 individuals) in corporate that actually have the knowledge to provide assistance or have true concern for the centers

Cons

Fixing the plane while flying is not the best motto to endorse with your staff. Employees are expected to revolve their lives around corporate requests and corporate cannot seem to get their agendas straightened out, agreed upon or communicated with each other. Centers are pressured to hurry and rush to try and fulfill impossible tasks that are later disregarded. Centers are suffering for the lack of competency that exist in the corporate field and are forced to try and resolve issues that should not exist. Corporate's lack of professionalism, experience, knowledge of day to day center agendas, and knowledge of the donor base is apparent to the centers. Unrealistic goals and missions are tasked to center individuals and are constantly harassed to meet expectations. Blaming corporate or the new computer system is not accepted as an excuse, even though they are the root cause the centers are struggling and having difficulty meeting such demands.

Pros

Can get phlebotomy experience without a certification Extra money to employees who are also donors Benefits are okay, assuming they don't try and take them away after your employment Doing something that ultimately is for good

Cons

Company will take away your benefits without prior notice, such as PTO Attempts to take issues to HR or Corporate go unanswered or are answered with easily Corporate will not respond to requests for documents, investigations, assistance with benefit understanding, complaints, grievances, etc. Pay rate is much lower than similar positions Small work staff due to managements scheduling practices causes employees working to easily be overwhelmed Work staff is sometimes so small they will ask employees to work 12+ hours in a day without a break Corporate office will not listen to center managers or anyone lower, causing the issues present in the centers to never be resolved Pay raises are rarely approved, even when highly justified
