Pros

1. There used to be wonderful teams working cross functions. They are mostly gone now or are leaving because of the toxic environment here and greener pasture else where. 2. What's left with Babylon are people who only appear to "work hard" but actually just taking credits for the work done by others. 3. The company has to continue to prop up the hype while dealing with massive public backlash because of low confidence in product safety and dissatisfaction over service quality. 4. There's no clear solution out of this quagmire because those key members who have the ability to solve this wreckage or at least manage it are no longer with the company or leaving for greener pasture. 5. We're now in a sinking ship and the people onboard can't contribute much to solve the crisis. 6. Lastly, politicking is rife here. The company has lost all the startup fun hacking and building things. So much time wasted attending "meetings" after "meetings" than actually building or fixing product.

Cons

This is such a shame because there was such huge potential for our product. The hype around it unfortunately attracts toxic people, and when coupled with incompetent management, ultimately destroy what makes this company special in the first place.

Thank you for your review. Over the past two months, Babylon has carried out the vital process of reviewing our engineering platform, technology tribe structure and general capabilities to ensure the product is more scalable and to support long-term global delivery. The COVID-19 crisis has obviously also had a huge impact on both our clients’ needs and delivery requirements, and we have had to review our structures to reflect our short-term delivery needs. This work resulted in around 5% of our workforce being furloughed in the UK as they were not critical to current delivery while others have left the business as they fell outside of the scope of our renewed longer-term focus. During those same two months, we have seen a resultant upturn in the number of negative reviews, with March and April now representing nearly 50% of the total reviews Babylon has received in its six years history on Glassdoor. Within Babylon we have a strong safety culture across our engineering, product and clinical operations teams, and closely monitor all aspects of safety, so that we comply with best practice in all areas. We don’t just rely on our internal processes; we are audited, inspected and reported on by numerous external bodies, and we score highly, i.e. the recent report by the CQC in which we were rated outstanding for being well-led. None of our products get released without passing safety testing, that is done every time, whether it be for the release of a brand-new product or a minor feature change. Safety approval is required for all changes in the live product. At Babylon, we really value our open and collaborative culture and carry out a survey among our two thousand employees every two weeks anonymously using an independent platform, collecting thousands of data points to assess the true feelings of Babylonian across many different subjects. Our survey shows when asked, ‘I’m inspired by the purpose and mission of our organisation’, 89% scored 7 or more out of 10 and ‘How likely is it you would recommend Babylon as a place to work?’, 71% scored 7 or more out of 10.

Pros

Babylon claims it wants to bring healthcare to everyone - only true if it's profitable and convenient to do so.

Cons

The idiots in the Babylon APAC office unwittingly offended one of the most prominent and respected family in Asia. It's not just some powerful family but it's THE Kwek/Kuok family that also has close tie with THE Ng family who are the richest and most powerful in the Forbes Asia List. The Babylon middlemen got blacklisted even before they can make any deal in Asia.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. As a current employee with these concerns we would encourage you to discuss this with your leaders. Babylon would for the purposes of this review, like to address this statement which is inaccurate and defamatory in nature. Babylon APAC senior management team has never interacted or spoken to the stated prominent families mentioned at any time, and therefore would not have been involved in a situation which allowed for an offence to be made to these respectable families. Though the nature of Babylon’s APAC commercial business does involve strategic discussions with government authorities and influential leaders across Asia, Babylon’s senior management always adopt a mindful and respectful approach to all discussions, and any such discussions are confidential in nature.

Pros

Thinking hard what to write.......perhaps the good thing is the MacBook Air laptop.

Cons

1. Top management lies and tries hard to look good. The negative comments on Glassdoor are true. Just google and you can find out that they are not welcomed everywhere they go. 2. Peakon is a joke. Negative comments are confronted during standup. So they just want to hear praises from employees. 3. Babylon hires without a care about sustainability. Insensitive when laying off employees. No human touch.
