Pros
A word that I could use to describe Bank of Guam is progressive. Working there for almost 7 years, I saw that the institution was really trying to modernize and become a better workplace for its employees. Maintaining a family culture in a financial industry is tough but Bank of Guam succeeded in doing so. Of course with so many employees, there were issues but nothing that was not handled in an appropriate way. If you are graduating high school, I recommend you start your career with Bank of Guam because if you put in the effort, you will reap the benefits and rewards. Basically, if you show management that you want more responsibility they will give it to you (great for resume if you need project management skills). It is also a great company to work long-term for, as I do have relatives still employed with the institution and who are in high level positions.
Cons
In the beginning of my career with Bank of Guam, there were a lot of issues with management. But this has been resolved through countless sensitivity trainings. The bank has come a long way when it comes to the relationship between management and employees. The pay is also quite low but you also have to consider that Guam is a very small island with a weak economy. There are no other cons to mention, this is a great place to work for.
