Overworked and underpaid

Pros

There are some cool people there, they strive to build camaraderie w/after-work gatherings like softball or bowling ...and you get to work with some interesting accounts. Getting out early on Fridays in summer is nice. Good benefits

Cons

Pay is low for the amount of work you do; Oftentimes, if an employee leaves, they are not replaced -- but rather, everyone else just has to do more work to compensate for fewer people. Despite being told we work 8:30 - 5:30, anyone who tries to leave before 6 is made to feel like they're doing something wrong and despite everyone working extremely hard and long hours, employees are often scolded during staff meetings (or in e-mails from the president) for not working as hard as management. Some words about the president: When the staff decided to do an office pool for March Madness, he decided the winner would be donating their winnings to charity. However, when he won the Super Bowl pool earlier that year, he made no such proclamation. You may have heard this already, but the man gained some notoriety when he sent out an angry e-mail threatening to terminate employees for drinking the milk and not replacing it The company definitely has their favorites and if you aren't one of them, good luck

Nothing nice to say

Pros

Small office with younger staff. If you intern at Beckerman, there is a good chance that you will be offered a job at the company.

Cons

Not really a good place for continuing career. Consists of younger staff of recent college grads or the children of friends of the CEO or older folks who have been working with each other for years.

Pros

Growth opportunity to a certain extent Lenient policy for vacation/personal days Free cell phone plan

Cons

Communication between management and junior level staff was lacking. Extremely lacking in positive office culture Little room for creativity and collaboration between practice areas Too much time spent on administrative duties which leaves little room for proactive media outreach Low salary
