Pros

- Good benefits - 5week AL - Good working environment

Cons

- They hired too many people who only know how to talk and brag about themselves. - Need to have a better HR dept to hire really good people. - Some principle engineers are just not experienced or knowledgeable enough to be the tech lead. - New Head of Delivery is too controlling

Pros

The company has grown considerably since it first started some 5 years ago, and has experienced alot of change across the time, growing from around 12 staff to well over 400 today. Now a key digital player in the Australian wagering market with significant scale, and owned by the largest online gaming company in the world, The Stars Group (aka PokerStars) there is massive opportunities across the business to grow and develop. Great benefits, and a Collins St Melbourne location for head office (satellite offices in Darwin & Sydney). Fast moving environment, great opportunity to learn on the job from a team that has a significant track record in building the biggest businesses in the industry from scratch (ie. Sportingbet, Sportsbet). Cloud first business with 100% proprietary tech, and a passionate engaged team driving the business.

Cons

Following the acquisition of William Hill Australia last year, there were a very large number of redundancies due to duplicate roles being rationalised which is par for the course of any major acquisition, meaning not everyone got to keep their job, but not unexpected.

Pros

Relaxed culture Generous benefits Fast moving Location location location Free drinks, breakfast and great perks Free gym classes Career progression if you’re part of the ‘club’

Cons

Great people who gave their heart and soul to the business moved on in the blink of an eye. High attrition rate. People and Culture are unfriendly, unapproachable and need coaching on empathy and relationship building. Certain employees are ‘protected’ and as a result promoted or put in roles they shouldn’t be in and are not qualified for. Structure is a thing of the past, CS team are unruly with no direction. New Management is too busy trying to be mates with everyone instead of providing meaningful guidance and support to the team. Throwing money at the team only buys short term happiness, not sure who is managing who. Staff do what they want when they want, Team Leaders are overworked and will burn out, clearly no fun doing all the hard work whilst someone else takes the credit.
