Pros

Hybrid working, buy and sell holiday

Cons

At first this company seems very friendly and staff focused, however over time you will realise this is not at all the case! I was a long term member of staff and started when the company was much smaller. I have seen the company and my department more than triple in size. What once was a small family like company, soon turned into the opposite. Staff are no longer looked after or cared about, you are treated like rabbits sat behind a computer and micro managed. All the company care about is making money. The favoritism within the company is very apparent. Having an opinion is not welcomed and wanting to progress and flourish within the company is only considered if you are a managers favorite or you threaten to leave. Promotions are given unfairly and most of the time are not even interviewed for, again just given out of favoritism. Team Octopus in sales is a massive let down for the company and department. This team allows bullying, unprofessionalism and a gossiping. This team brings the company down and if I were the owner I would be embarrassed to have a team managed this way. As is the training team, which used to also be apart of sales, unfortunately another very unprofessiona and lazy department, happy to bully staff and inflict high stress and anxiety. Over the past 6 months I have witnessed more members of staff hand in their notice and leave, than over the whole time I have worked for the company. Staff have filled out surveys advising their concerns and spoken to numerous members of management, however nothing has been done to fix the ongoing issues. It's a shame the company would prefer to keep on the lazy bullies and unprofessional staff over the hard working and dedicated members of staff looking to progress and develop their skills within the company. Overall this is no longer a nice, friendly and happy place to work. It's gone down hill massively and unfortunately the management do not seem to care. Their approach being "If you don't like it, leave". It' really is shame as there are some really lovely and dedicated members of staff working at this company still who deserve to be treated much better. The pay also isn't very good at this company. No pay rise in 4 years, even though a raise was promised on 3 different occasions. The work load, stress and bulling this company inflicts on staff is not worth the salary.

Hello and thank you very much for sharing your feedback, although we are very sorry to hear that this was your experience of working with us. This is not the kind of experience that we expect anybody to have whilst working at Beyond Retail. One of our Ten Principles is ‘Feedback is Essential’. We are always looking for ways to improve and offer our teams many opportunities to give feedback on how we’re doing. This includes our annual Thermostat survey, 1-2-1's and public forums on our intranet for colleagues to share their thoughts. This feedback helps to highlight what is important to our teams and has directly led to several impactful and ongoing projects to address suggested areas for improvement. We can only apologise if you felt that your opinion was not welcomed. We aim to pay everybody at Beyond Retail a fair and competitive salary. We are proud to be an accredited Real Living Wage employer and also of our salary review process, which has seen increases for all colleagues over the past 2 years. The well-being of our people is incredibly important to us, so it is disappointing and concerning to hear of any unprofessionalism and bullying that you experienced. We take matters of this nature very seriously and would like to have an opportunity to look further into this. Please feel free to reach out to us at people@beyondretail.co.uk to tell us more. Pros

The people you work alongside and the CS manager Holiday allowance The gym on site The work from home option

Cons

The pay for the job role it’s self is too low, you are more a complaints handler than anything else and the role should be advertised as that. The feedback they ask for just gets ignored and over seen. If a complaint comes in the right training needs to be provided and dealt with properly or hands over to the right person without any issues. Not enough movement for growth within the company, as much as it’s spoken about at interviews it doesn’t happen. When it’s spoken about in 1 2 1’s you get the same response everytime and no actual Movement to do so which is a real shame.
