Pros

Casual dress code, Discounts on apparel, Gained experience wearing multiple hats, Some coworkers genuinely care and make the job a nice work life balance

Cons

Product quality doesn’t match brand messaging, veteran owned company but everything is made in china... Low wages with little to no room for growth yet there seems to be growing expansion for the larger company, if there is continued talk about record profits give back to employees, Outdated practices and resistance to innovation from higher ups who aren't trying new designs or actual product research, iinvest in a testing and research team if you want clothes to last more than a few washes - clothing falls apart - does not keep up with industry style trends, overbearing "tight-knit" culture limits autonomy. either run as a big company or small company in a really weird in between right now that is a mess - Too large to be “small,” too disorganized to be “corporate”. put real effort into improving product quality and staying current zero movement on innovation or new ideas wouldn't exactly say lack of diversity but it can seem that way

Pros

-Work Culture: The company fosters a positive, close-knit work culture that emphasizes camaraderie. There’s a strong sense of community among employees, and the team often feels like family. -Veteran-Focused Mission: Born Primitive has a mission that truly honors veterans, which resonates deeply with employees and customers alike. The company’s support for veterans is admirable and creates a sense of pride in the work. -Baer’s Leadership: Baer is a very charismatic and inspiring leader who has a clear vision for the company. He’s genuinely passionate about the brand and often motivates the team with his enthusiasm. -Stipend for Clothes: The clothing stipend is a great perk, and it allows employees to enjoy the company’s products, which is a nice touch.

Cons

-Inability to Retain Talent: There’s a significant turnover issue at Born Primitive. Many skilled employees leave within a short time, and there’s a recurring problem with retaining talent, which hurts the company’s growth and stability. -Poor Compensation: The salary and benefits are not competitive with industry standards. While the work environment is enjoyable, it can be difficult to overlook the below-market compensation. -Favoritism: There is a noticeable preference for certain employees, particularly those who go to the same gym as leadership or if they served together. This can create tension and feelings of inequality among staff members. -Ill-Qualified Employees: Some team members are not well-qualified for their roles, which can affect the overall performance of the company. The lack of proper skill sets in key positions leads to inefficiencies. -No Upward Mobility: Opportunities for career advancement are limited. Despite being a growing company, there isn’t a clear path for employees to move up within the organization, which can be frustrating for ambitious individuals. -Mediocre Benefits: The benefits package is lacking compared to other companies in the industry. While it’s not terrible, it could definitely be improved to better meet employees’ needs.
