Unbeatable Company Culture

Pros

Working at Bridge Climb is an experience to match the experience it offers. Some of the staff are genuinely passionate about what they do and coming to work even on your worst days are worth it to see the people you work with. Life long friends are made in this workplace and the company culture is fun and down to earth. There are opportunities for career progression and you have the option to apply for roles in other departments. Management is supportive and everybody is treated equally regardless of rank.

Cons

The peak period over the Christmas holidays is ridiculously busy and its all hands on deck at this time which means you will feel like you live in your uniform December through to January. It slows down during winter and depending on which department you work in that could mean a noticeable decrease in available hours. Staff parties can get a little wild and with every body getting along so well it can be hard to remember work place boundaries, discretion is key.

Pros

*great fellow climb leaders and team leaders. *its a fun and iconic job to do for a little while.

Cons

Management doesn’t really care about staff. This place runs on the goodwill of the staff helping out doing extra climbs, working on days off, working ridiculously long days. Don’t expect to be compensated for any of this. Don’t expect weekend penalty rates. 12 hour days are common during peak. The pay is honestly terrible for the level of service you provide and management have no interest in paying climb leaders what they are worth. The turn over rate is crazy high. They don’t care. You are dispensable to them. They just want to charge sky high prices for the product while paying the people that deliver it crumbs.

Pros

Truly is a fun and enjoyable place to work. Chris Zumwalt is no longer CEO.

Cons

Managers suffer massively from Dunning-Kruger and groupthink and act to cover each others incompetence. Anyone expressing any ideas of their own or disagreement with managers get ostracised. BC hiring practices inadvertently select for neurodiverse masking behaviours creating a culture in which staff members are effectively abused psychologically by managers who are passive aggressive. Diversity measures are tokenistic, legally required consultative practices are vague and tokenistic. BC has a problem with effective communication due to a number of reasons including the disconnect between neurodiverse and neurotypical communication, a culture of secrecy and confidentiality, information silos and managers actively hiding things from executives. Highly unprofessional.
