Pros

They occasionally bring in lunch for the teams.

Cons

Most of the negative reviews are accurate, but it’s to be expected from a company run by a couple of 25 year olds with zero experience in technology (and a bucket of VC money). I was initially excited to have the opportunity to work on a newer product within a niche industry, but once you dig in you realize how troubling the situation is. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect: - High turnover. At least 6 people were let go within the span of time I was there, and I’m certain none of them were provided an explanation. Don’t complain about the lack of blinds / glare on your computer screen. They will fire you. - Long hours / unreasonable expectations....(but this doesn’t apply if you go out drinking with the CEO and her pals). - Poorly designed tech stack. The database architecture alone made one employee contemplate suicide. Definitely something out of a horror film. - There is limited / no parking, so if you don’t live close enough to walk/bike it can be a hassle. - There is a weird odor in that building. Possibly dead animals in the walls, or one of the BDR’s leftover lunches from weeks ago. To this day I’m still astonished at how much money they manage to fleece from customers, considering how mediocre the product is. Bridgit’s main competitors (PlanGrid and Fieldwire) offer a much more polished and reliable user experience. I wish I had done my homework before taking the job. Live and learn.

Pros

Really can't think of any.

Cons

Working at Bridgit was the worst decision I've ever made, professionally. It literally crushed any desire I have to ever work in tech again. If you like working with a bunch of high school girls who gossip (about other staff members, and, most likely, you), love making huge decisions without including any stakeholders, and have absolutely no idea how to run a business, then Bridigit is the place for you. The lack of direction and communication was staggering. I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do or where the company was going. I don't think anyone on the leadership team even knew what a KPI was. Incompetent and downright cruel staff members were kept on staff simply because they were 'friends' with the co-founders, even though MULTIPLE people highlighted the hugely negative impact they were having on the company. Also, the turnover rate was insane. Like ridiculously high. I think 13 people quit while I was there. And I wasn't there long. Just an all round terrible experience.

Pros

I worked with some great people at Bridgit, until they left. The dev team seems like they've got it together.

Cons

My time at Bridgit was tumultuous. When I interviewed with senior management, I told them that culture fit was my top priority, and I was assured that Bridgit was a positive and healthy environment that had gotten past its growing pains. I trusted management and assumed the negative reviews on Glassdoor and the company's negative reputation in the local tech community were things of the past. Boy, was I wrong. Whatever "culture" Bridgit promotes faded out with mismanaged growth of the company (seriously, most people have worked there for way less than a year). The environment is alarming, as the entire company shares an open concept work space that is almost at max capacity again and you can hear a pin drop at most times of day. Turnover is absurdly high, and the feeling of job security didn't exist because of unrealistic expectations placed on teams and the company as a whole. This company's culture isn't going to improve anytime soon, because management seems to discourage disagreement while taking negative feedback personally. Do yourself a favour and find the "start-up experience" elsewhere.
