Pros

- A couple of nice people from a company of this size - Challenging work gets you motivated to achieve

Cons

- I had a lucky escape for this black hole, don't bother applying trust me (or take a chance and hear me say I told you so) - if you read the other reviews you'll see staff were forced to write positive reviews by HR - Have you seen the press articles recently. This company rips people off and are now being forced to pay £14.8 million to customers by the FCA - There are certain people in HQ management that think they rule world because they have a title. - HQ management and people in general play the game of "being seen to be doing something" - largely it's pointless games and achieves little or nothing - The weekly trading numbers are boring - having to list to the same story "we're down in XYZ metrics against the previous week" wow what a waste of time - Evolving the so called business proposition many times since i have been here. It does not matter how many times you re-package the offer of goods and services - the fundamental idea of rent to own is flawed.

Pros

People work hard and do their best for the company.

Cons

We received an email today from HR asking us as Bridgeheads (senior managers) to all write in telling GlassDoor our positive feelings about BH! Unbelievable! They have sent an email (copy available for Glass Door if you want to see?) to the managers they think are happy - not to all? Why? Why not everyone? Doesn't take a genius - email says '' there have been a number of negative reviews recently'' so let's get behind sending some positive views to help people looking to work in the future - to me this is wrong?

Having read the content of the email it just asks for your balanced view of the business "good or bad"? . Like all businesses we are are not perfect but any feedback we received be it negative or positive helps us shape the business for the future.

Pros

Great teams, Good RM's, SM's and store colleagues. Fast paced Fun place to work Never a dull moment Fantastic opportunities to progress Good staff purchase scheme & discount Learning every day Directors and Divisional Directors are very approachable No Sunday working in retail is fantastic New staff survey rolled out and action taken since last survey with CEO calls with SM's once a month

Cons

Constant change but this is understandable with the business having to adjust to different regulations and requirements It has been a difficult year which has meant difficult decisions like in any other business Not for the faint hearted but like any company you work hard but it is all about what you make of it
