Pros

It's a job. Join and stay if you have nowhere else to go.

Cons

Incompetence level of the MD is astounding. Banging tables is not same as being decisive or showing leadership or giving goals. Time wasting meetings with input from people who don't lift a finger but because want to appear wise and contributing, in fact outdated. Embarrassing. Meetings with MD is constant rehash, she mostly unprepared but talks loudly to sound in charge. The unpolitically correct things she says about people also reflects badly on her and we wonder how this sort of person can lead luxury titles. Worst part is she undermines her senior staff to others in the industry but does not realize people in the company and outside respect these staff one million times more than they think of her and in fact think lowly of her. Who has the morale to work for someone like this??? She is easily swayed by the whims of the other ang moh MD who is a lot more charismatic and coherent than her but also creates problems with his big ideas that others have to execute not him, so very easy to say.

Pros

There are spin doctors planted to make this Singapore branch look better. Well, at least someone cares to fake up some lies

Cons

MD. MD. MD. Don't be fooled by planted reviews on how she is not toxic, fair, respectful or not political. She is uncouth and a petty political insect. Have you heard of a boss who sacks your staff without telling you first? This is the "respek" she has for people unfortunate enough to work for her She is racist. She can't even help herself. Her racism just surfaces

Pros

Internally within the magazines and titles there is no problem. Common consensus is the editorial teams work decently well with each other. Work flexibility is good. Work location is in Orchard Road so it's quite central.

Cons

Sales team used to be good, now they are a mess. If editors start selling for you then we deserve some commission too. MD is painfully biased towards certain titles, don't know why upper management thinks the editors don't talk amongst ourselves. Even editors who are receiving the benefits also feel uncomfortable. Not transparent despite MD's constant "I want to open and transparent" drills. Even the CEO also cannot stop her. MD wants to be seen at events but has no EQ so people from other magazines and publishing houses come back and talk about her inflated ego, which doesn't do much to help the brand.
