Pros

For those of you that are doing your research about this company and trying to find out if this is the right step for your career, know that I was in your exact position not too long ago. Know that I am not a disgruntled former employee, I did not get fired, nor am I writing this out of spite. I am writing this in an effort to paint a clear and concise picture of what this company is and does. I know it can be hard to decipher between the really bad reviews and the really good ones. How can you know who is being real? I'm here to plead with you to not believe the good ones, for your own sake. I read both the good and bad reviews, decided to see for myself, and found that reality was found in those 1 star reviews, not the fake 5 star ones. CGI have told employees to write positive reviews on these sites to help counteract all of the negative feedback, even having employees make several reviews with made up email addresses. CGI will also try to point you to ReviewTube, a place for "real" reviews you can trust. This only furthers my point. ReviewTube is owned by CGI. They will call it a "partnership". Make no mistake, CGI has made this so they can curate the types of reviews that are seen, making sure that they are viewed in a positive light. I do not hate CGI. In fact, I'm quite fond of several people that I met there. However, I cannot in good faith recommend that anyone work here. I initially chose not to review CGI when I chose to quit a couple of years ago. But, after seeing them do the same things over and over again, being dishonest and having no transparency, I felt like I needed to speak up. The only pro for working for this company would be experiencing firsthand what a workplace should not be, and knowing that any job or company in your future apart from CGI will be an improvement. I hope this review has been helpful and informative. Bonus tip: if you are truly in need of a job, call McDonald's. You will be better off.

Cons

Yikes, not enough time in the day for this. *see Pros*

CGI believes in transparency with our staff and it's unfortunate that you did not feel that way during your time here. For a clear and concise picture of our company, we'd encourage a visit to our company website to watch our employee testimonials.

Pros

The friends you make in your department.

Cons

This place is a revolving door. They hire new grads for below market rate, then abuse them until they find better work and leave. The work feels meaningless due to poor end product quality, and the best part of the day was skimming through their notes system to read the newest complaints and lawsuit threats from towns and business owners.

We are sorry to hear that you feel so negatively towards CGI. We understand that we may not be the right fit for every employee that decides to join our team, and that’s okay. Our management strives to equip employees with the skills and guidance that they need to succeed, but they can only do so much. It is up to the employee to put in the effort and hard work to find happiness in their career, no matter what company they are a part of. While many companies may shy away from hiring recent college graduates, we not only embrace their enthusiasm to start working, but provide them excellent learning opportunities and rapid growth!

Pros

An 8-5 job if you are a sales Associate

Cons

First of all, you can't take into consideration half of the reviews because after 60 days of employment, they ask that you review them and look. They do this to the few long term employees they have as well, likely offering bonuses. After all, they write fake reviews as a business! They're pros. This is a terrible company to work for. They lie to you from day one. They label the entry level position "sales associate" but you don't sell anything. You are a telemarketer and you bother people for a living. They discriminate against women, and pay men more on the hour - for the same job and seniority, from start date. They also don't tell you up front that you will be fired without hesitation if they deem that your numbers aren't amazing, and even if they are - they don't really have to have a reason. Not out of the ordinary to go in and 8 or 9 people to have been fired before the work day. And this is not a big company. Huge turnover rate. If you aren't fired before 2 months, you will want to quit anyways. This job is miserable even though they make the atmosphere appear fun. If you are in an outside office, be ware. They fire quickly in those offices as well and without notice. You will also have to come to Rochester for weeks to train and stay in a nasty hotel. But they make you feel special and give you the koolaid! They fired huge loads of people the week before Christmas. They don't care about their employees nor their families.

We are a transparent company who believes that REAL and honest feedback is crucial to our growth and development. That being said, we've created ReviewTube, where you can watch REAL video reviews from current AND former employees...check it out below: https://www.reviewtube.com/embed/rt_widget_d5.php?pid=D4T&pl_id=7p. Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts about CGI. We appreciate your input. We are sorry that you had a negative experience. CGI has been around for close to 30 years, we serve thousands of clients every week, all while striving to take care of our employees to the best of our ability. Whether it's an employee review, or monitoring reviews for our clients, our reviews online are not fake. Each review on this site has been added at free will, be it positive or negative. We do encourage our employees to write Glassdoor reviews, and that is something that every company is, and should be, doing, but no past or current employee has been offered additional compensation to do so. We strive to treat ALL employees equally. The ONLY consideration for a difference in original pay structure is experience. Other than that, employees can receive bonuses and promotions based on their own individual performance. We are sorry that you were not able to pave your path to success with us, but the hundreds of employees that have, are, and will speaks volumes to our overall mission.
