Pros

Lots of varied clients which offers the opportunity to learn about different types of businesses. The agency is well-known and has won several awards recognizing their work.

Cons

Fickle owner/founder. Underbids projects ignoring the realistic time involved in delivering services. Known throughout the community as being difficult to work with. Low pay, especially in entry-level/assistant positions, though the workload is heavy. Typically expected to work overtime with no compensation.

Pros

There is no good reason to work here, unless one is desperate.

Cons

Very poor management. Owner is a micro manager without any practical experience at what she preaches. Rigid workplace that clocks employees. Hell for anyone who has known better. Small town agency that time forgot.

Pros

I began working full time at Caliber Group after being effected by layoffs at my previous company – a large pharmaceutical corporation. I was looking to work for a local business with a broad reach where I would be more than just a number, and Caliber Group had been high up on my list of desirable places to work since college. I knew they had a reputation for being industry leaders in brand strategy and digital campaigns, two areas I was interested in pursuing, so I contacted them to see about the potential of working together. Even though there was no formal position open, the CEO and the President let me know that when a qualified person who shared their goals walked through their door, they made it a point to make a place for them on their team whenever possible – and that’s precisely what happened. My background is predominantly in graphic design, but they were interested in cultivating my abilities in the area of marketing and client relations, hiring me on a contract basis while we all assessed where I would best fit. Based on my performance, I was quickly moved to a permanent salaried position as an Account Director. They had seen something in me that I didn’t even know I possessed myself, and I haven’t stopped learning and growing thanks to the commitment of the CEO and the President to foster my professional growth. The skills I have learned in running social media and digital marketing campaigns, as well as in maintaining and growing client relationships, are absolutely invaluable. I know I can always go to any of my teammates, including those at the executive level, for feedback or advice on a project. The working culture that they have cultivated is the best I have experienced. They make sure to thank employees with holiday and monthly gatherings designed for us to come together and have fun, provide attainable opportunities to advance in salary and title, and offer competitive health insurance and retirement contributions. Beyond that, the work that the team turns out is some of the best I’ve had the honor to contribute to. The creative team is a pleasure to work with, and their talents are witnessed by the scores of Addy’s and other awards the company has received over the years. I have personally had the opportunity to collaborate on some creative projects, as well as projects running the gamut from public relations, to marketing and advertising, to. social media, to media buying and digital campaigns. The end result is always well thought out, impactful, and drives results for our clients, and I am proud to be a part of it. I truly count myself among the blessed to have found this opportunity, and I hope it is one I can continue to enjoy for as long as possible. In my experience, the caliber of this group is out of this world!

Cons

The work is fast-paced, and demands one’s personal best. Each member is very important to the success of the whole team, so if you are not adept at multi-tasking, eager to learn every single day, or not into truly committing to your work, this company may not be for you.
