No Regard for People

Pros

Great technology, great opportunity, crowded un-defined space,

Cons

Leadership has no regard for people. Will cut folks with no notice, no warning and no reason. In the short time I was there they let go of several people with no notice and no regard of how it will affect the individual. Many cases it was stated it was not a performance issue but a business decision. They cut executives and individual contributors. They change strategies on a whim from going after enterprise accounts to digital native, with no regards to how that will effect things down stream.

Pros

Avoid at all cost. Cant think of any pros, besides the company being one of a few in this particular niche. Salary is still very low and options are totally worthless with super small exercise window.

Cons

- Everyone is super toxic, I have seen some people bursting out and going crazy in calls, managers calling others "NPCs", "no-brainers" and similar stuff. Shady employee behaviour, where your colleagues would act good in front of you and report you for asking onboarding questions, taking a small break during the day and similar - 0 work life balance, around 95% of tickets are estimated with 1 story point, to be completed by EOD and if you get delayed even by a few hours, your manager will call you - 0 psychological safety. The first mistake you make and your manager will invite you to a call to flame you and threaten you. - If you get on the PIP there is no escape, you will get fired for sure. A lot of people get fired with 0 notice, even within 2-3 weeks of joining the company. Run as far as you can if you even remotely care about having some job security or work-life balance. - The only people who enjoy working here have nothing else at all going on in their lives besides work. - Company engages in unethical behaviour by trying to strike down real (negative) reviews and publish obvious fake reviews.

Stay away - second round of layoffs

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

1 of 3 companies in the automated cost optimization market. The market itself is young and has close to unlimited potential Good CTO - solid combination between being approachable and not wanting his time wasted. His team and other teams respect him. It often felt like he was the only member of the C-suite who had a strong grip on his responsibilities to the company Employees are nice, smart and easy to talk to

Cons

There's an overall lack of strategy. It seems like the C-suite thought that the the industry they're entering for the first time was going to be a lot easier to penetrate. There has been 2 rounds of layoffs in 3 months. The sales structure has gone through 3 changes in 3 months. Decisions seem to be made in a panic, without a clear long term plan. The company has gone through two CROs, hiring without previous CRO experience, and there is no VP of sales. There seems to be a general lack of involvement from the CEO. Only presents himself during all hands meetings and when things aren't going well. Does not lead his team to good performance, just knocks them down over "bad" performance The company is stuck in reactive mode, on its tech offering as well as it's treatment of employees The technology never works as it's supposed to for customers reviewing. 100% of the time it requires fixing and patching - some customers are ok with it, others aren't. CTO fights for honest communication with customers, while the other C-level members push for smoking mirror approaches C-level encourages inaccurate deal forecasting putting pressure on sellers to create false opportunities to report to the board The company has been in survivor mode the whole time I've worked there, which there is nothing wrong with. The problem is that the c-level management does not have a strong knowledge and understanding of the market it's in. The company prides itself in having a very short hiring process. The problem is that it's too quick and often times, they hire the first person to show interest in the job, instead of the best person for the job Sales and Marketing are two entirely separate teams and there is toxic tension between the two teams that goes unaddressed There is no HR team, meaning employees aren't able to go to anyone to address issues. You're on your own once hired. There will be at least one more round of lay offs this year, stay away from this company in the foreseeable future. They sale the company as a future unicorn, while only showing signs of failure.
