There is little support for staff and center managers from corporate, and I'm not referring to compensation or staffing support. Rarely does Catalyst Family invest its resources in programs and systems to support center staff. Upper management is overall ineffective, aside from focusing on minor details that do not serve the mission of the organization. Instead of appreciating, supporting and authentically connecting with staff members, leaders often use and abuse those who do the most work. No one ever speaks up because of the unspoken fear of the wrath and retaliation from the executive leaders of the organization. When bringing things to HR and the employee relations team, they spend the time listening but no positive actions result. More often than not, speaking up leads to being watched. The weight of crotchety privilege burdens this organization, its employees and the families they serve.
