Pros

it is an 8-5 job Monday- Friday. Use to be a great place to work .dress code was casual, everyone could wear blue jeans and were comfortable especially going in and out of a warehouse. Once was a great place. One great thing is all hourly employees are always wiling to help each other. We do what we can to support each other and to stay away from newCEOthat is in charge. No one wants to work for her , she is very degrading and mean to those beneath her. Others in management are wonderful and supportive. If we ever lose our managers or hr -Chefwear will have to close it's doors. Some mgrs. understand that we need to get the right people in the right positions--not just fill positions with warm bodies. Hoping Chefwear goes back to the old dress code for ALL employess not just make a few have to dress up, Then the employees doing the work will be more comfortable. Employees work better and harder when they are treated fairly and comfortable. Bring company back to that Chefwear Family feeling. Where management really cares about the employees

Cons

New person in charge of company is not a good choice .She is slowing tearing down all that was good about Chefwear. She does not know how to speak to people, She is very critical and comes across that she knows more than anyone else. She talks down to those even close to her age!! Most employees try to stay out of her path. She now has changed the casual dress code(which only effects some not all employees) She makes most employees very uncomfortable. Many are looking for different employment. There is no one know to go to talk to .Most employees are unhappy with her being in charge--she has no idea how to read an spreadsheet let alone run a company. I feel she is going to be the downfall of Chefwear,.The owners should really open their eyes and ears. Listen to any employee that will speak with them, which is another issue because most feel you can not tell owners the truth about how you feel because they go back to the person in question, And that will make your life miserable.

Pros

Good product and placement in the industry. Family like atmosphere.

Cons

I wish I read all of these issues before I started. I might not have taken the position. Everyone's comments on here are valid. Take a moment to read through them all. They are spot on. You come on trying to do a good job but people, policies and politics will stand in your way. No structure and bad hiring practices equals high turnover rate and upset employees. Owners either need to be silent or fully in control. Several people were let go in a very short amount of time and it turns out they were not doing their jobs correctly. Were they trained? Did you just try to get bodies in the door? If you take the time to hire the right people for the right position everything should be a great fit. Also several people quit quickly or left after a long time due to very very poor management or none what so ever. Oh and training is a joke. If you don't know the industry (most don't) it takes a few months minimum to get adjusted. They are not prepared for this learning gap.

Pros

There almost are no more good reasons to stay here. There are still a few really good people here. We had a great reputation. We used to make a great product and always grew.

Cons

Well, they finally realized that the CEO did not know what he was doing. Now, we are firing everyone he hired and have nobody in management that knows what they are doing. Trying to run the company with below average management. There are two people that are better off staying out of the picture like they did for years.
