Pros
Chew attracts talent looking for a place to make an impact.
Cons
Due to the unfortunate fact there is no option to rate this place as an abysmal black hole of soul sucking despair, I am forced to cough up a single star. I know that sounds harsh, but it’s really important you understand this. I’m writing this for you. If you’re anything like me, you’re reading these Glassdoor reviews and doubting the legitimacy of all of them, thinking, “Oh, I’m different than them…I’m tougher. I’m a hard worker. I’m…‘fill in the blank.’” I trust that you are; I really do. But unfortunately, it’s completely irrelevant. During the interview process, Chew presents the opportunity for one to live their dream and truly make a difference in the industry. Everything from opportunity for growth, the benefits package, the facility, the food innovation, and the oh so charming CEO give the illusion that possibilities are limitless. I, like many others, ecstatically dove head first into this company not realizing that I was, in fact, biting into a feces filled m&m no peanut could ever diguise. Do not let the candy-coated shell lure you into biting at the "opportunity" you are presented unless of course you are looking for the following: 1. Conflicting micromanagement from a minimum of three colleagues who aren’t your bosses, but act like it. There is no shortage of Office Space material here. 2. You enjoy emotional suffering so much that the cognitive dissonance the owner inflicts really satisfies those hankerings you may have on a weekend when you just need to be told you're a worthless pile despite doing everything you are told to be a good little pet. 3. You thrive in an environment where everyone is in danger and you enjoy plotting your survival and exit strategy. "May the odds be forever in your favor." 4. You’re a gambling addict inspired by a turnover rate that feeds your greed to bet big to win big. Chew was the worst experience I’ve had in any professional capacity. If I could jump through the screen and throw a tarp over you to save you from accepting a position with this company, I would. It would be a more productive effort to move to North Korea to establish democracy and capitalism than to waste an ounce of energy or creative talent on this company. Your passion, your drive, your desire to make a difference in the industry is totally worth struggling for; Chew is not the environment to support you in achieving that.
