Pros

Flexible start times and finishes

Cons

I joined this company about six months ago as a Content Executive and it is easily the biggest mistake I have made in my seven years of working. Without a doubt, this is the worst business I have worked for, and I have experienced sexual harassment and discrimination in previous roles!! - constant change in business direction/ website rebranding which means we waste time on planning internal marketing that never is used - Encouragement of using AI in writing - Promise of employee benefits in company handbook that never materialise - Meetings organised by the owner which are they don’t attend or show up late to - Disorganised operations, e.g signing on clients and promising services we don’t have - Over servicing clients with no scope of work - I was terminated right before my probation because of poor performance despite no concerns being raised about my performance prior to this - No culture - Led by people with limited knowledge of marketing and search

Pros

- 4pm finish on a Friday - Vitality health insurance - Some fun clients during my time there - Good range of tools and open to suggestions for new ones - Worked with some good colleagues bonded by mutual suffering

Cons

- The agency has no identity, constantly changing business direction and its website. Priority was taken away from client work for this. - No training or development support to progress your career. Essentially just stuck at one level. There’s no yearly talent reviews or anything like that either so you don’t get much official feedback. - Zero senior leadership team so you’re left with no guidance or frameworks. Well experienced and actually knowledgeable people aren't remotely interested due to the very low salaries offered in job ads. Cheap, inexperienced seniors are hired, fail probation then rinse and repeat at the detriment to the whole agency and its clients. - The CEO would punish the whole staff roster because of just one person’s spell of poorer performance. Work from home days taken away, flexible working taken away, increased micromanaging, monitoring what time you arrive and leave etc - this happened multiple times. The atmosphere and general day to day became uncomfortable and miserable.
