1) Whilst they turned a full-time role into a part-time role upon request, they weren’t prepared to tailor the onboarding training, as well as workload to lesser hours. This led to an extension of probation because they felt too much time was spent on training, even though they extended it to over 4 weeks instead of 2.
2) Incredibly toxic micromanagement culture. They claim to be flexible but then complain about every little thing, if you have to go to an appointment etc.
3) Not enough work - they hand over your accounts really late, then they make you train for months on end, doing really boring work. You constantly have to offer your help to others because you don’t have enough to do but also it’s criticised if you don’t. They should just allocate accounts better and actually let people work after completing their onboarding.
4) Terrible progression path. The salary is anyways low but once you worked hard for 1+ years, you move up to Senior Research Analyst, still doing the exact same job for maybe £5k more at max. If you want to make it to a decent position and pay, this is not the job for you.
5) Really outdated legacy systems that are completely useless in any other role after. The only useful software is Brandwatch, everything else is awful.
6) Management is terrible, they are micromanagers but also not very nice to people. Some of the things I’ve seen them say on Teams, I was shocked. A lot of the less senior managers are also not able to stand up for their team.
7) After I left, I read lots of Glassdor reviews talking about similar experiences but one quote that stuck with me was “nice toilets to cry in” - they do have nice toilets but if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know to not work there then I don’t know.
