Pros

Gosh, where do I begin? I guess at the beginning: the location-it's in a funky old building that looks like a set from a western movie from the parking lot. The back is on the water with a genormous wharf, sliding glass doors and a view of Mt Rainer. Really, this location can't be beat! Next, the staff: super fun folks to work with and socialize with. lots of good energy and everyone is super helpful to everyone else. It really is a team here and the director hires people who she thinks will blend well with the team specifically. Third, the job: I loved my caseload! The variety of disorders was nice and the professional challenge was great, especially since the director takes a lot of time to make sure that each therapist is comfortable with their caseload and she has an open door policy where she is always available for brainstorming and advice. I didn't know much at all about AAC when I started here, and to be honest, I was a bit intimidated with how much it is used at CLASS, Inc. That being said, the director the the therapy team was so helpful, that I learned tons without even feeling like I was out of my league. Lots of continuing education is provided regarding AAC, too. Caseloads are low, but they do occasionally get larger (up to 70% productivity is larger). Administration is totally open if you go to them to say you are feeling like you have too much on your plate and they will immediately release you of some clients/responsibilities. More than adequate time is available for paper work, and if you can't do notes at the end of the day, because that is a busy time, there is always time the next day. Did I say that I really enjoyed my caseload!?! Fourth: there is an entire room of toys and games-truly amazing! Other materials are profuse. Good range of testing materials, both standardized and non-standardized. Administration will purchase anything else that you want. Really, compared to my job before this one at CLASS, Inc. it's like working for the fairy godmother at CLASS, Inc. The only reason that I left was due to a required move that my spouse had to make,

Cons

Like I said, there are occasional caseload increases, but that always settles down rather quickly. The building is old and quirky (the floors are uneven and the doors don't always shut tightly) The kitchen is small, but adequate for having a group of 2-3 clients in it and it is always fully stocked with food for therapy use and snacks for staff.
