Pros

- Small company in an interesting and fast-paced industry. - Focus on fundamentals leaves significant opportunity for creativity and personal initiative - Opportunity to interact on a high level with management teams of covered companies as well as institutional investors

Cons

- Senior management exudes an air of superiority that is completely unjustified - Company culture is toxic. Management tries to sell employees on the idea that the company is a family when in fact it is a dictatorship where people are plied with small freebees (snacks, bad lunches) while they are fleeced when it comes to salaries and bonuses. - Feedback is solicited from employees on a regular basis and is immediately ignored when it does not jive with management's views - which is pretty much 100% of the time - Professional advancement and compensation are limited unless you kiss up to management - Cost structure is bloated due to management pursuing secondary business ventures to compensate for the deterioration of the core business. The industry is rapidly changing and management believes the industry revolves around them

Pros

- benefits and insurance are both very good - unlimited PTO (although you aren't expected to use it) - plenty of snacks - a handful of genuine, fun people to work with - some growth potential in side-businesses; albeit small - fast-paced environment

Cons

- workplace is heavily dominated by white upper-class males; seriously lacks diversity - company turnover has become alarming even among Senior Analysts - CEO is unwilling to engage with employees on nearly any matter - pay is subpar relative to the industry and relative to the number of hours you are expected to work; bonus compensation is laughable - culture is very different from what management thinks it is. CRC "culture" is defined by arrogance, entitlement, and hierarchy - management is old, stale, and lacks creativity. Far too entrenched in what worked 10 years ago and far too distracted to realize they are ill-prepared to provide quality sell-side research for the next 10 years. - training, mentorship, learning opportunities are few and far between - ideas and improvements fall on deaf ears and are seriously considered only if you play the office politics in your favor - management's decision making is often disorganized, slow, and very poorly communicated
