Pros

Minimal supervision Mostly remote work Easy to get hired due to low technical bar

Cons

The owners cashed out and abandoned the company two years ago, and is now run by inexperienced, young managers Outdated technology (much of the stack is written in outdated PHP libraries) Lack of technical expertise Endless meetings to discuss non-existent products Crisis-driven development (fires are constantly needing to be put out) Company retreats, which used to be hosted in Hawaii, have been cancelled for the past few years Company has no direction and no new products Company is no longer productive due to "culture of blame" Many of the good people responsible for early success have already left No career advancement Low compensation Company product hinges entirely on fragile JavaScript hacks

Pros

I've been working at Clicktripz on the software development team for over 3 years now, and I can confidently say it's an ideal working environment for a developer. 1. It's remote-friendly, and developers get a chance to actually focus on their work. 2. There's no red-tape between teams, and no politics. If you have a good idea, you can push it to production within days. 3. The C-Level team prioritizes good life-balance. Project deadlines are always reasonable and rational. 4. The team is awesome. I haven't worked with a smarter group of engineers anywhere else. 5. The tech is cutting-edge. Everything is built on AWS, and the scale the company operates at is very impressive. This list is not exhaustive, and there are a bunch of other things Clicktripz does to make an engineer's job more enjoyable. A complete suite of unit tests, dockerized microservices teams have full control over, minimal meetings, immediate feedback from ticket created => code deployed, etc...

Cons

The view from the Manhattan Beach office can be distracting (last week we saw a group of whales).
