Pros
I jumped straight into a start up for the first time in my career. Like any sane individual, you ask yourself, "What did I just do?" And you know what? It has been great. I am already having an amazing time. This is everything a startup should be. *Management listens. They want to know areas for improvement. They want to hear your ideas. They really care about the culture being built in this early stage. CloudApp takes criticism with grace, and uses feedback to improve. *We are moving fast. For such a small team, I am always impressed at the speed our engineers move. They have had some massive projects, and they are really steering us in the right direction. Great job, guys! *AMAZING BENEFITS. Health care is so affordable, and it is really great coverage. The money I saved on healthcare was its own pay increase. *Along the same lines, very competitive pay. Especially for a small company. *Everyone wears a lot of hats, and everyone is willing to help. Very collaborative culture. *Because we are in startup mode, my mentors are the executives of the company. That is such an invaluable experience. It doesn't hurt that they are all really fun people either. *No micromanagement. *There is always a new challenge & something to learn. I am never bored! *I have already earned invaluable experience. *Flexible scheduling *Unlimited PTO
Cons
Startups are overwhelming. There is so much to do...I never feel fully "caught up."
