      Solid, traditional, long/short hedge fund.

      Pros

      Well respected firm, comfortable day to day atmosphere, smart & friendly people, reasonable pay and benefits, benevolent leaders at the top.

      Cons

      Lack of coherent vision or direction, internal communication & transparency, employee morale, effective leadership from middle management, rampant turnover at all levels.

      Pros

      The only pro was getting a package after they closed down the failing quant fund.

      Cons

      Too many to list out. The "management" of data science, quant, and data engineering is atrocious and full of egotistic clowns. The only thing they were capable of doing is spending more money on data and compute than their actual return on investment (negative). Should have listened to the advise of ex-employees to runaway from this place asap. Out of the many places I've been at before, this is by far the most toxic environment. The best day was the last day when they gave me a package because they closed down their failing quant fund. If you join, your sole goal should be to get laid off so you can get a package and then go vacation.

      Inexperienced management, toxic work environment, long hours, high turnover (mostly resignations), long non-compete / notice period
