Pros

The company provides exciting compensation at the time of recruiting. Employess work remote from home always. Being a startup, there is lot of work and things to learn, which is a good thing but might hinder your work life balance given the odd working hours. You will be monitored continuously for the time you work via apps like hubstaff that take screenshot of your screen every 2-3 minutes and keep a track of time for the period your screen was active. If it does not meet minimum hours criteria, you might have to apply for leaves. The leave policy is not employee friendly, on top of getting fewer leaves than any other company, you don't get leaves for major Hindu festivals. There is a certain level of micromanagement that takes place no matter how much management denies it. The leadership will try to steal credit of your work, and the same leadership will be praised and motivated by the management. Being a small capacity company, there is no communication between the higher management and the lower hierarchy folks. Leadership will always make sure they ignore your good work and pounce on your mistakes and use it against you during appraisals. The leadership can become really toxic, as management backs them and promotes them as management don't want to speak to devs and get the actual feedback, only feedback from leadership is taken at face value. Leadership does not like you taking planned leaves, and call you on teams or phone on the day of your leave and make you feel guilty. During appraisals, toxic leadership can even deny the obvious client praises you received just to put you down. Reporting managers will go to any extent to deny you your deserved promotion/appraisal by downplaying your achievements and exagerating your minor mistakes. During this time, no one has your back, management and HR the least. If you feel like you've been wronged by any higher hierarchical employee, HR or Management won't help you a bit, they will say this old employee is with us for so many years and we cannot do anything here and put it all back on you. The laptop provided to the devs are pretty slow and will hinder work and cause frustration, upon raising a concern, your plea to increase the RAM will be rejected. Leadership will gang up against you during your appraisals, as they all would have only noted on the minor fallbacks in your work and come with lies to reject your client given praises (yes, really). The values 'Respect, Fairness, Excellency, etc` the company( management and leaders) talk about, they themselves are the one who are tearing them apart. Suppose, you're in luck, and your reporting manager is really good, haha, the management would still try to ridicule or oppose his correct evaluation of the reportee. Devs are taken for granted here, their work is not respected. Product owners, Managers take most credit. The company procures clientele by promising short deadline of completion, hence the suffering of the developer. As a new employee, you might get a lot of work and will be praised for it if you fight really hard enough, but it becomes a lost battle as you cross a year. As a dev you can face partiality, where another dev with the same position, skills and experience as you is being groomed for a higher role but not you. There are projects which have absolutely no growth, so much so that in fact working there would make you forget your own base tech stack, and once in it's hard to get out.

Pros

Nothing in my duration with company

Cons

I wanted to let you all know my honest feedback for this company so that you all can be aware and take steps for your future. I was working with this company for a period of 1 year and resigned due to the below reasons. 1. The salary is never paid of time 2. The company does not give good hikes. I also had a word with other team members and the hikes are as little as 2 to 3%. They always tell me that the company didn’t perform well and give very few hikes and expect you to work 24*7 3. Most important thing is that there is no annual bonus given by the company. They only give a joining bonus if you complete a year and are also not paid to employees who have completed more than a year in the company 4. The company does not give any leaves and cancels all the planned leaves. They just say that you have to work and HR never responds to you or helps you 5. Salary is suddenly put on hold and not paid. I was not given a salary for 3 months and then when I fought they released only my 1 months salary. I still haven’t received my salary for 2 months and this thought of leaving this company for good. Also please note that the HR team will never be available to help you as they don’t have people to answer employees queries. I was shocked to know this but I received the message from the HR as well and then I never heard back from her. - Firstly the HR team is very slow and doesn’t respond on time. My interview took place for 3 months and I had to follow up multiple times to get the offer letter. - My joining was done very late and they also wanted to join as fast as possible. All the HR of the company as very rude and is never available to help you. Also they forced me to join early and tell you that we have many people who would replace you so accept the offer or go to hell. Who says this? Also they have a notice period of 2 months and does not leave you early and make you work like a donkey. - one HR told me that no HR is available as they don’t have any HR. HR doesn’t even know anything. Why is the company hiring more employees if they don’t have enough HR? - Hr also asked me if I am married and when I said no they simply said if you want to work with us then don’t marry for 2 to 3 years. Why are they concerned about me getting married? I am sure they must have asked this question to many of you. I think companies should fire them or replace them or get some new person who responds on time and has knowledge about HR and hold back our salaries. The new people who have joined, all I would say is please think about your decision because the company behaves good in the start but later on shows the true colours. Please feel free to reply to me if you have been through the same.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns and experiences. We truly regret to hear that your time at Codvo did not meet your expectations. It's important to us that we address your feedback with the seriousness it deserves, particularly your comments about HR support and employee treatment. We want to clarify that we have systems in place to ensure that there are never delays in salary payments, and this is a point of pride with no record of missed payouts. Additionally, we conduct biannual appraisals and ensure that salary hikes are competitive and performance-based. Moreover, we have never cancelled any employee's planned leaves, and we can confidently say that the claims about HR are completely unfounded. We would greatly appreciate it if you could disclose your identity so we can address your concerns personally, as we have not received similar feedback from any other employees. Anonymous postings do not aid in seriously resolving issues. We are deeply sorry for any other challenges you faced and are actively working to improve our HR responsiveness and overall support system to better serve all our employees. Your honesty helps us make necessary improvements, and we are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment.
