Toxic leadership

Pros

_Office space is nice but felt like you were in a furniture store showroom. _Its a job that paid me money to do things that I cared about.

Cons

_My opinion is that the executive leadership team at Collective Measures has lost touch and do not hold themselves to the same standards they hold others to within the company. I think that they could get away with anything and it was sickening at times. _It is my opinion that executive and leadership team favors sycophants and yes-men/woman who are willing to "just get it done" or who are too early in their careers to know any better. The only people at collective measures who are free from the ludicrous micromanagement of the executive team are those with jobs so technical that the executive team cant even understand their work. _It is my opinion that there is a lot of language about the organization having employee-centric ideals but in reality, it is my opinion that you are only as cared-for as much as your job is important to the bottom line of the company in any given moment. And sure, this would totally be fine if it wasn't my opinion that they seemed to be founded on opposing principals. The reality is, this is just a job like any other and its not a great one unless you are liked by the three executives.

Pros

Coworkers who became friends because of the trauma and torture we experienced.

Cons

Above all - leadership. Or should I say lack there of. I've never been treated so disturbingly in my life. You are not treated as an adult. You treated as scum whose sole job is to be there so the executive team can put you down at every opportunity to make themselves 'feel better' - the truth is they are miserable, unhappy, insecure and entirely unprofessional. You will retract in your career and professional growth if you unfortunately become employed here. As for work-life balance? Forget about it. You're expected to be on-call at all times. If you have kids? Well you can also forget about family time. The only "family" time they support is for their own benefit to post on social channels about bringing your parents to work - which lets be honest, I'd be embarrassed to introduce them to the "executive" team.

Performance marketing agency that doesn't understand marketing

Pros

- Nice downtown workspace. - Camaraderie among co-workers who also understand they're being taken advantage of. - Middle management is full of good people. - Looks like they got a new website with their rebrand. It looks good.

Cons

- Low pay that the company tries to justify with paid health benefits and the occasional free meal or outing. - Zero opportunity for advancement. - Meaningless and unfulfilling work that still must be micromanaged by the executive team. - Only hearing how badly the executive team treats people after someone really feels comfortable that you won't rat them out. - Getting conned into thinking you're working for a moral company rather than one led by mean and short-sighted people who aren't even good at what they're supposed to be doing. - Apparently they got rid of the contracted services who were acting in an HR capacity and brought everything in-house. I left this company a while ago and avoided writing a review until now. After hearing about a particularly cruel situation involving the executive team, curiosity got the best of me and I decided to check out their Glassdoor reviews. I'm sad to say that all the recent reviews echoed my concerns and it sounds like the "employee first" veneer has been completely stripped away now that the founder (Nina Hale) is no longer closely involved with the company. It's sad as there are a number of talented people that work at Collective Measures who are being exploited. If you're considering working for this company, know that the executive team puts in a lot of effort to disguise how unkind they are. When they decide they don't like someone (often because they display a shred of self-worth and exhibit signs they won't be stepped on), they talk about them behind their back, then punish them by giving them awful work and withholding the few interesting projects they have. Their goal is to make you quit to avoid the built-in fallout that would come from firing you. They win by not paying unemployment and by framing your departure as being under good terms. It's perhaps the only intelligent thing they've done, though completely unethical.
