A poorly managed institution

Pros

If you like to micromanage or wish to be micromanaged, then seek employment at this institution.

Cons

This institution has struggled significantly under the current college president’s leadership. After replacing the previous administration with a new Dean and Associate Dean structure, the organization’s stability and employee morale rapidly declined. Each year brings another round of full-time faculty layoffs, while upper management continues to expand with newly created vice president and dean positions. Essential roles that directly support student success—especially academic advisors—have been reduced or eliminated, leaving faculty overwhelmed and students underserved. Meanwhile, the college spends excessive amounts on “All College Day” celebrations and catered events, even as employees are repeatedly told that budgets are tight. It’s disheartening to see how far the institution has fallen from what was once a great place to work. I’m truly grateful to have moved on to an environment where leadership values people and invests in long-term success rather than appearances.
