Pros

Aside from free breakfast and lunch (at least at my location in Stamford) there is absolutely nothing else that could be considered a "pro" to working here.

Cons

Too many to list, but I will give it a shot. Bear in mind before you write this review off as coming from a disgruntled employee or "bad egg" that I have worked at Conair for some time. I get excellent reviews and am well regarded by my peers. First, senior leadership with very few exceptions represents the absolute worst that you could imagine. Favored employees are allowed to remain with the organization indefinitely, despite their skills and/or contributions having eroded a long time ago. Their incompetence and lack of professional demeanor is masked by the fact that they are NEVER TO BLAME for any shortcomings in the company's performance. It is always someone else. Most often, junior members of the team. There is no upward mobility based on merit. You receive promotions and raises at fairly specific intervals of time, more or less regardless of ability. An exception can be made if you are particularly favored by the CEO. Examples of that permeate through the organization. Let's put it this way... The favorites, for the most part, did not become that way for their workplace contributions. Sales meetings (if you want to call them that) and meetings in general are often abusive in nature. Marketing and sales associates are routinely called out in front of their peers for perceived failings. The statements that are often made wouldn't be appropriate in a high school locker room, much less a professional environment. It contributes to the fact that morale has reached a new low. Good people, with a long history of success at Conair, have left. More will follow...

Pros

Free lunch, most work 9-5

Cons

Stay away- company is being sold off in pieces, meetings were held, 1 week salary for every year you’ve been there-not even close to industry standard, new HR person has been brought in to fire people. Very sad

Pros

Some of the folks still have heart, but the owner has poisoned most of management. Free breakfast and lunch

Cons

Confused and misguided upper and middle management. Lots of bullying. Favored persons are immune. Poor performers are allowed to stay while some who helped build the business and were productive have been fired. Many people leaving for other jobs. HR department is powerless.
