Pros

I really enjoy working at Concentric Life, but I do have some concerns following the acquisition of CLife by Accenture. Since the merger, I’ve started to feel more like a number in a larger pool, which makes it harder to stand out like I used to. The changes in management structure and the various systems can be confusing (Pay, Benefits, Trainings, Meetings, etc.). Now with Accenture, it’s important to keep track of all new credentials, as you never know when they may be required and juggling multiple platforms can be frustrating. That being said, Concentric Life is still a fantastic company with a lot to offer, especially with the remote work opportunities, the strong friendships I’ve formed, and the unique team culture. While there are always ups and downs, as you’d expect in any agency, I would definitely recommend the company for the overall experience and flexibility.

Cons

While I enjoy the variety of work and opportunities to learn, there are some challenges that come with the role. Occasionally, late nights are required due to team inefficiencies, which seems to be an overall limited judgement of accountability from the team. Additionally, opportunities for raises and promotions now feel more distant, as Accenture doesn’t seem to have the same frequent employee review cycles that Concentric Life did. There’s also a fair amount of internal team shifts and changes to client accounts, which can sometimes disrupt workflow. New business wins are exciting, but they seem to be few and far between. These factors can make it a bit harder to predict long-term growth and stability. As a result, the previously comfortable and "stable" environment feels a bit more uncomfortable now, & also less motivating under Accenture leadership. I find myself uncertain about advancing, as I’m not sure what the culture of the agency will look like under Accenture’s influence.

Pros

The clients in the pharma/healthcare sector have large budgets

Cons

Everything else. I have never met a team with larger egos and worse efficiency that really wreck the creative process. The budgets are large, but the team will blow through it because everyone is so focused on their timesheets reading as billable so no one is honest. There are SO many departments that don't talk to each other so it's a continuous game of broken telephone. The HR team and finance team are so messy, and the company as a whole lacks proper training for most things. They have recently been acquired by Accenture so I assume more changes are to come, and hopefully that will teach them a thing or two about business and efficiency, but they'll have to check their egos to allow for any growth and positive redirection.
