Pros

As a mechanic, you have job security. The planes break down constantly due to band-aid repairs to make the next flight.

Cons

The airline's customer reviews are a direct reflection of the upper management. They do not care about you or your time. If the plane isn't fixed, you're not leaving. You can leave work after a 20-hour shift, and they expect you to be back on-site in 4-6 hours. Mx planning has no clue what they are doing, and Mx control knows it. They will schedule every inspection for one day because it makes their jobs easier. They have no clue what the inspections they schedule actually entail or how long they take. They will not tell you that your time off is vested only. If you accept the job in January, you will not have any vacation days to use for the entire year. If you accept the job in November, you will have the days earned from Nov - Dec to use the following year. Have kids? Don't worry, they won't hesitate to call you into work at 4 am on Christmas Day.

Pros

You sometimes get to work on private jets, although even contour’s “nice” planes are barely passable. You’ll meet some amazing pilots and ground crew.

Cons

Overbearing management, you’ll be working on broken janky planes that are barely legal to fly, no one ever knows what’s going on. Prepare to have constant maintenance delays and endless condescending emails to read. Turnover is so high, they make you sign a contract saying that if you quit before 12 month of service, you owe them 8k. Everyone I knew quit anyway. Not worth it even for experience.
