Pros

Greater relationships with existing staff who are full of heart and want to serve. Opportunities to learn new areas involving data and evidence based practices and skills.

Cons

Two organizations that had powerful visions are now a lukewarm version. New exec leadership is top heavy, expensive and ineffective. Does not listen to people who actually know how to do the work. More interested in how they look than how the organization is doing. Sad that HR employees are told to fill out GD reviews to counter the opinions of the real people/employees.

Copa Health Response
6y
We are happy that, as a current Copa Health employee, you feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts. We are open to all areas of improvement. As the two existing organizations merge together, we encounter many opinions and suggestions and are as grateful for yours as for others. With an organization of over 1300 employees, we think our Executive Leadership Team of 10 people is probably below average. Our executive pay is more than in line with industry standards, we’re sure many could make more elsewhere. Please be assured that each person we hire, including executives, are hired for their expertise, efficacy and dedication to make the Copa Health experience better for members and staff as well. We do not ask human resource employees, or any employees, to write reviews to simply counter negative reviews. As with all organizations, we are happy when employees are willing to share their satisfaction with their workplace and position. We consistently ask our staff to bring concerns forward and our new CEO is especially accessible. We have so many staff that love working at Copa Health that we don’t need to force positive reviews. We are just encouraging those who have made statements showing pride in their jobs to consider sharing their thoughts on one or more of the various social media platforms. Mandating employees to give reviews is simply not part of the Copa Health way of business. We do hope this response has addressed some of your issues. As always, you can feel free to speak to a supervisor about any other concerns.

New Values Nothing like those with PIR

Pros

Clinicians continue to provide good care

Cons

The new management is money driven and patients needs are low priority. The days of PIR "your voice your choice" is nonexistent for patients. New management is top heavy in administration and do not address the concerns of their employees. New mamagent have been placed at the sites that run the clinic by scare tactics instead of working with employees like they used to at PIR. HR is nonresponsive and has high overturn. There is high overturn at the clinics due to new managment at sites that once were stable for over 10 years. New CEO has very limited knowledge or experience with SMI population and her administration does not take suggestions from those in the organization who are experts with this population.

Pros

Good co-workers, many of the clients are good people

Cons

Their training is a joke, the supervisors play favorites, scold and embarrass others in front of other co-workers, the upper management of Arrowhead are vindictive, heartless, and driven to push services for monetary bonuses. Case Managers are overworked and treated like they are expendable, and we were scolded if we took 'too much time' with a client who needed to be heard. Plus their entire office is one huge hippa violation. If a company has to bait their workers to try and bring on new workers, and pay them hundreds of dollars if the employee can last 3 months, what does that tell you? Two things: One, they spend ZERO on retention or training for supervisors to support the people already there, and two, they are obviously poor stewards of Mercy Care's money. RUN, don't walk, away from this disaster. Most people do.
